Summary

We are seeking an experienced Director of Community and Developer Relations to lead the strategy, engagement, and growth of our developer community. This role will focus on cultivating a vibrant community and partnering with Product to build a community platform that enables collaboration, resource-sharing, and feedback loops with developers, partners, and contributors. The ideal candidate is a strategic leader with a proven track record of building communities, fostering user engagement, and enhancing developer relations through meaningful relationships, content creation, and thought leadership.

What You’ll Do

• Community Growth and Engagement: Develop and execute community engagement strategies that attract, retain, and support a diverse and active network of developers and technical professionals.
• Developer Relations and Advocacy: Build strong relationships with the developer community, acting as a champion for their needs within the company. Facilitate content creation (tutorials, guides, webinars) and manage influencer and thought leader relationships.
• Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of community managers and developer relations managers, fostering a collaborative, growth-oriented environment to achieve community engagement goals and ensure alignment with company strategies.
• Feedback and Product Collaboration: Establish channels to collect community feedback, working closely with product and engineering teams to inform product development, address pain points, and incorporate community-driven improvements.
• Community Platform Development: Partner with Product to design, develop, and launch a scalable community platform to support user engagement, knowledge sharing, and networking. Collaborate with product and engineering teams to ensure seamless integration with our broader ecosystem.
• Event and Partnership Management: Plan and oversee events, conferences, and meetups to increase community engagement. Establish strategic partnerships to expand the reach and impact of the developer community. Coordinate as necessary with the Corp Events Team on logistics and budgets.
• Performance Tracking and Reporting: Define and monitor KPIs for community growth, engagement, and satisfaction. Regularly report progress and insights to executive leadership to align community efforts with business objectives.

What You’ll Need

• Open Source Expertise: Experience in open-source communities or managing technical communities in the AI/ML, data science or open-source space.
• Experience with Community Platforms: Proven experience nurturing digital communities in owned or 3rd party platforms, with strong collaboration skills to work cross-functionally with product, engineering, and UX teams.
• Developer Relations Expertise: 8+ years in community management, developer relations, or a related field, with a focus on building and sustaining technical communities.
• Strategic Thinker and Leader: Demonstrated ability to create and execute community growth strategies that align with business goals and foster user engagement.
• Excellent Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively engage with technical audiences and represent the company at industry events.
• Project Management: Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Development and Technical Skills: Basic understanding of data science, ML, and/or AI; Python and environments

The US base salary range for this role is $160,829 ~ $239,295 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed in each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations.

Within the range, individual compensation is determined by various factors, including work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter will provide more specific details on the salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
