Who You are
- Full-stack fluency: you understand both frontend and backend architectures, how features will be used in merchant sites, and can engage in conversations across the stack.
- Technically confident: you can dive deep into APIs, integrations, search logic, performance, and system architecture, and engage credibly with engineers.
- Clear communicator: you can distill complex e-commerce and search/inline architecture topics into accessible content, tutorials, and best practices.
- Partner & merchant centric: you intuitively understand what agencies and merchant website teams care about (performance, ease of integration, maintainability) and advocate for them internally.
- Cross-functional collaborator: you work smoothly with product, engineering, support, and marketing to align on goals and deliver consistent outcomes.
- Community oriented & proactive: you enjoy engaging in forums, agency-oriented events, mentoring, and you take initiative to build processes, tooling, and infrastructure as the company and role evolve.
What You'll Do
In this newly defined role, you will inspire and engage partners and merchant-site developers to help establish AthosCommerce as the premier platform for e-commerce integrators, agencies, and merchants. You’ll produce high-quality technical content — sample apps, API docs, tutorials, and reference integrations — tailored to real-world merchant and partner use cases. You’ll lead developer onboarding and provide hands-on support, helping partners and merchants use our APIs (including in frontend and backend contexts). You’ll collaborate closely with product and engineering to channel feedback from merchant developers into the roadmap, helping to shape features, integration patterns, and UX. Externally, you’ll represent AthosCommerce at events, in forums, and through workshops, building awareness, trust, and adoption in the e-commerce developer ecosystem.
How You Will Succeed
- Content Creation: Develop and produce high-quality technical content, including documentation (and pipeline), tutorials, blog posts, sample code, and presentations, to educate and inspire developers.
- Developer Advocacy: Act as a passionate advocate for both external partners and developer communities, as well as internal product developers, representing their needs and challenges internally and externally. This includes engaging with developers at conferences, meetups, and online forums.
- Partner/Developer Onboarding: Facilitate a smooth and effective onboarding experience for new partners and developers, providing them with the necessary resources, guidance, and support to successfully integrate and utilize our platforms and tools.
- Continuous Feedback,Interlocking Product and Engineering: Establish and maintain a continuous feedback loop between the developer community, product management, and engineering teams. Collect, synthesize, and communicate developer feedback to inform product development, identify areas for improvement, and ensure that our offerings meet the evolving needs of our users. This involves working closely with both product and engineering to ensure alignment and effective implementation of feedback.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of partner/sales engineering, software engineering, product management, developer advocacy, or related experience.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language.
- Strong understanding of API design principles
- Experience in creating and delivering technical presentations, workshops, and training sessions.
- Able to develop and maintain comprehensive developer resources, including documentation, tutorials, and sample code, for effective use of the Athos Commerce frontend and backend APIs.
- Passion for developer communities and partners, and a genuine interest in enabling and supporting developers.
