Manager, Logistics

Role 

We are seeking a detail-oriented and execution-driven Logistics Manager to lead end-to-end logistics and material movement for Ayr Energy’s operations. The role spans domestic and international logistics, primarily focusing on finished goods delivery (transformers, switchgears, circuit breakers etc) to customers across India and the U.S and also covering raw material movements from vendors to our factory partners. This individual will play a key role in optimizing supply routes, managing logistics vendors, and ensuring on-time, cost-efficient, and compliant delivery performance 


Key Responsibilities 

1. Outbound Logistics (Finished Goods Movement)  

  • Coordinate shipment of finished transformers, switchgears, and circuit breakers from factories in India to customer sites in the U.S. 
  • Plan and manage multi-modal transportation: India-inland, ocean freight, and U.S.-inland legs. 
  • Liaise with freight forwarders, customs agents, and warehouse partners to ensure timely documentation, dispatch, and delivery. 
  • Track and report shipment milestones, handling exceptions and delays proactively.  

2. Vendor and Partner Development 

  • Identify, qualify, and onboard logistics partners across ocean freight, inland transport, customs brokerage, warehousing, and handling services. 
  • Build rate contracts and service-level agreements to ensure cost competitiveness and reliability. 
  • Develop contingency vendors and alternate routes for critical shipment 

2. Inbound Logistics (Raw Materials) 

  • Coordinate movement of raw materials from Ayr-approved suppliers to manufacturing sites, wherever Ayr Energy is responsible for procurement. 
  • Ensure visibility and timely delivery of critical materials to avoid production disruptions. 
  • Collaborate with procurement and production teams to align inbound schedules with manufacturing plans. 

4. Warehouse & Material Management 

  • Oversee warehousing operations for both raw materials and finished goods, including storage, handling, and dispatch readiness. 
  • Manage inventory accuracy, FIFO compliance, and safety standards. 
  • Implement warehouse process controls and digital systems for tracking and traceability. 

5. Compliance & Documentation 

  • Ensure adherence to all export-import regulations, hazardous goods handling norms, and insurance requirements. 
  • Coordinate with finance and legal teams for documentation related to shipping, customs, and payments. 
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation for all logistics activities. 

Skills & Attributes 

  • Deep understanding of end-to-end logistics for heavy electrical equipment or capital goods  
  • Excellent vendor development, negotiation, and cost optimization skills 
  • Analytical mindset with ability to optimize cost, lead time, and reliability 
  • Strong understanding of customs regulations, and export-import documentation 
  • Proficient in ERP and logistics tracking systems. 
  • Excellent coordination and communication skills across internal and external stakeholders. 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree; MBA/PGDM in Operations or Project Management is a plus. 
  • 10–18 years of experience in logistics or supply chain with experience in managing international shipments and customs.  
  • Proven ability to build and leverage a network of logistics partners  
  • Experience in transformer, power equipment, or heavy engineering industries preferred. Experience for U.S.-bound exports is a bonus. 
  • Certification in Supply Chain Management or Logistics is an advantage. 

Work Environment: 

  • Preferred Base: Hyderabad. 
  • Regular travel to manufacturing sites (Hyderabad and across India) & ports.
