About the Job 

The Operations Officer will play pivotal role in driving continuous improvements in our travel, procurement and office-related processes in Pakistan.


The Challenge


Looking ahead to 2030, we are targeting reducing GHG emissions from cotton production by half, big cuts in synthetic pesticide use, improve soil health across our network, improve farm income and support women’s empowerment among farmers and farm workers. 



Areas that play to your strengths


We are seeking a motivated Operations Officer to join our Finance and Services Team. In this role, you will be responsible for: 

  • Supporting the establishment of local partnerships with hotels, transport companies, insurances, meeting venues, caterers, etc. to facilitate team members’ travel and events organizing.
  • Supporting the organization of stakeholders’ events in Pakistan (booking and contracting venues, catering, event management services, etc.)
  • Providing support to Pakistan team members in booking travel (hotels, flights, etc.) and make arrangements for international staff members to Pakistan (coordinating visa support, accommodation and local transportation).
  • Ensuring that the Lahore office is fit for purpose: safe, well stocked and clean. 
  • Maintain an up-to-date inventory of office equipment, low-value and IT assets, in liaison with the IT Officer.
  • Support local procurement queries to ensure that they adhere to organisational policies and processes. 
  • Work collaboratively with line managers to set clear, outcome-based objectives that align with function-wide and organizational goals.
  • Take ownership of agreed objectives, ensuring alignment with team priorities and performance expectations.

We are looking for someone who has

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent higher education qualification, in a relevant field. Master’s degree would be preferred
  • At least 3 - 5 years’ experience in a similar role, in a multicultural environment.
  • Process Improvement: Identifies gaps and implements solutions that enhance performance.
  • Stakeholder Management: Builds strategic relationships to drive impact.
  • Ability to work independently and to take initiative 
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new things and apply existing skills and knowledge to new contexts  
  • Excellent organizational skills, capacity to multi-task and handle a set of different priorities
  • Excellent attention to details
  • Negotiation Management.
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft 365 package (Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint) or evidence of picking up IT programmes and systems quickly
  • Proficient English (written and verbal): Better Cotton’s language of operation is English.
  • Additionally, Urdu preferred for working with stakeholders.

Working arrangements


The position is full-time (40 hours per week) and will be based either in Lahore. Better Cotton offers flexible working, with core hours being 10 am – 4 pm.
