Better Cotton is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join its SSI team based in the Better Cotton Pakistan Office, in Lahore, who will be responsible for ensuring that suitable M&E systems are in place to support the implementation of program activities. This will include process and tools development, data collection and analysis, reporting and learning/reflection processes, and some evaluation. The Senior Coordinator will assist program and implementation partner staff in using, adapting, and reporting from tools and processes. Additionally, they will take the lead in ensuring that MEL activities are carried out consistently and credibly at the country level, following global processes. Their role also involves ensuring the credibility of the information collected from the field and contributing to the understanding of the impacts of Better Cotton in Pakistan.

 

The Senior Coordinator will report to Manager Certification and MEL, Pakistan.

Looking ahead to 2030, we are targeting reducing GHG emissions from cotton production by half, big cuts in synthetic pesticide use, improve soil health across our network, improve farm income and support women’s empowerment among farmers and farm workers. 


Areas that play to your strengths


We are seeking a motivated Senior Coordinator Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for:


·         Lead the execution and provide quality oversight for the MEL processes and systems in Pakistan, following Better Cotton's global MEL framework and requirements;

Assist in defining the necessary resources and budgets to implement MEL plans in Pakistan and monitor progress against budgets throughout the year;

Contribute ideas and suggestions to the global MEL system and process development, aiming to improve transparency, credibility, efficiency, etc;

Identify and define key performance indicators (KPIs) for program partners that effectively measure their progress;

Ensure Result Indicator data is collected, cleaned, and shared with the global team according to the timeline;

Design, develop, and implement comprehensive M&E frameworks that align with the Better Cotton goals and objectives;

Proficiency in designing data collection tools, such as surveys, interviews, focus group discussions, and understanding their appropriate application in different contexts;

Strong analytical skills to interpret both quantitative and qualitative data to generate insights and recommendations;

Knowledge of data management practices, including data cleaning, validation, and storage, to ensure data integrity and security;

Proficient in preparing comprehensive M&E reports and effectively communicating findings and recommendations to stakeholders;

Offer technical support to strengthening of M&E capacity of local programme partners;

Provide support, input or be part of Global Projects as and when requested;

Providing required information to Capacity Building Team, Assurance Team, Membership Team and Supply Chain team as required;

Support Programme team to develop and deliver training modules around monitoring and evaluation tools, analysis tools, excel, and other data management tools;

Support Programme team to conduct capacity building trainings with Implementing Partner staff


We are looking for someone who has


the following skills, knowledge, and experience:


Essential:


5 to 7 years of work experience in development program/project

Experience in large database management

Experience in leading studies (mix methodologies) from designing to report writing

Experience in local staff capacity building

Experience in establishing M&E systems for sub grantees/ local partners

Experience of working in a team and individually will be an advantage

Strong report writing skills

Good aptitude for statistics and data analysis

Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent higher education qualification, in a relevant field

Demonstrated interest in sustainability and international development

Thorough knowledge in quantitative and qualitative data collection methods, and analysis is essential

Skills in Excel, understanding of Power-Bi and Tableau will be an added advantage

Excellent interpersonal skills, along with the ability to work independently, proactively, and in a collaborative manner with a team.

Excellent written and communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, and to assimilate and process information for wide-ranging audiences

High proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook

Willingness to frequently travel domestically, and occasionally overseas


Desirable

Experience of working in cotton farming

Experience of working in agriculture sector of Punjab and Sindh province of Pakistan

Objective and meticulous professional with the ability to multi-task

Academic background in rural/agricultural development and sustainability

Knowledge of cotton production

The position is full-time (40 hours per week) and will be based in Lahore, Pakistan. Better Cotton offers flexible working, with core hours being 10 am – 4 pm.
