About the role

We’re seeking a Senior Expo/React Native Developer to join our development team based in Richmond, Victoria. This role is crucial in advancing the mobile experience of the BuildPass platform and driving our technological innovations.

You’ll be working closely with a passionate team to build and enhance our mobile applications, leveraging cutting-edge technologies to solve complex industry challenges. This is an opportunity to make a significant impact in an industry ripe for digital transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and Maintain Mobile Applications: Build and maintain high-quality mobile applications using Expo and React Native.
• Collaborate with Cross-functional Teams: Work closely with product managers, designers, and other developers to implement strategic initiatives and deliver high-quality features.
• Optimise Performance: Enhance the performance and scalability of our applications to provide a seamless user experience.
• Code Reviews: Participate in code reviews, ensuring high code quality and adherence to best practices.
• Innovation and Improvement: Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive continuous improvement and innovation within the team.
• Technical Leadership: Contribute to architectural decisions and technical roadmap planning.
• Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior developers, fostering a culture of learning and collaboration.

Our Tech Stack

While extensive experience with our specific tech stack is not required, familiarity or interest in the following technologies would be beneficial:

• Expo/React Native: Primary framework for our mobile applications.
• TypeScript: Used extensively across our codebase.
• GraphQL: For efficient data fetching and state management.
• AWS Infrastructure: Understanding of cloud services and deployment.
• CI/CD Pipelines: Experience with automated build and deployment processes.

About you

• You have demonstrable experience in mobile application development using Expo and React Native.
• You’re proficient in JavaScript and TypeScript, with a strong understanding of mobile development frameworks and practices.
• You have experience with integrating RESTful APIs and GraphQL into mobile applications.
• You’re enthusiastic about creating intuitive and user-friendly mobile experiences.
• You have experience with mobile app deployment processes for both iOS and Android platforms.
• You’re familiar with performance optimisation techniques for mobile applications.
• You’re enthusiastic about leveraging AI technologies to solve complex industry challenges.
• You’re a strong problem-solver with attention to detail.
• You have excellent communication skills and can articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• You’re a collaborative team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
• You’re proactive and self-motivated with a passion for learning and innovation.
