Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic R & R Embedded Application Unit Manager to lead our embedded applications team. This role involves overseeing the design, development, and implementation of embedded software solutions while ensuring high-quality standards and efficient project execution. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, technical expertise in embedded systems, and the ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and execute the unit's vision, mission, and strategy in alignment with organizational goals.
- Ensure the team adheres to industry best practices, standards, and protocols for system performance, reliability, and security.
- Lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative culture.
- Define clear roles, responsibilities, and performance metrics for team members.
- Communicate project updates to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, system engineering, project management, algorithm and embedded software team to deliver integrated solutions.
- Establish and continuously refine workflows, tools, and methodologies to enhance productivity and efficiency.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement data-driven improvements.
- Ensure all projects meet regulatory requirements, and internal quality benchmarks.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends to maintain a competitive edge.
- Encourage and support innovation to solve complex engineering challenges.
- Lead efforts to troubleshoot and resolve critical technical issues in embedded application.
- Ensure all team members contribute to the regular releases and maintenance of the project documentation
- Execute Line Management duties (E.g. approve holidays, performance review, yearly appraisal and retrospective etc..)
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronic Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Embedded Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in embedded software development, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Strong proficiency in C, C++, Python, or other embedded programming languages.
- Experience with, Linux, firmware development, and microprocessors.
- Familiarity with communication protocols (e.g., SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, Ethernet).
- Experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies and project management tools.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in automotive, industrial automation, IoT, or medical device industries.
- Understanding of safety-critical software development and standards like ISO/IEC 12207, ISO/IEC 26262, IEC 61508.
- Knowledge of AI/ML applications in embedded systems.
- Certification in Project Management (PMP, Agile, Scrum Master, etc.).
