About the Role

This role is compliance-heavy and field-driven, requiring frequent site presence, audit readiness, and hands-on leadership of mechanics, shop foremen, and fleet operations.
This position owns DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and company safety standards, ensures fleet reliability, reduces risk exposure, and enforces preventative maintenance and safety programs across a multi-state footprint. Success in this role requires decisiveness, consistency, and the ability to hold teams accountable in environments where safety failures are not an option.

- Establish and enforce fleet cleanliness, inspection, and readiness standards across all locations.
Safety and Regulatory Compliance
- Own and enforce compliance with DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, state, and local safety regulations.
- Maintain audit-ready documentation for inspections, certifications, maintenance records, and driver compliance.
- Conduct regular site safety audits, fleet inspections, and corrective action follow-ups.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve safety programs, policies, and training.
- Lead investigations for vehicle incidents, injuries, near misses, and safety violations, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
Leadership and Accountability
- Lead, coach, and hold accountable mechanics, shop leaders, and fleet teams.
- Set clear performance expectations related to safety, uptime, documentation, and cost control.

- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising safety or reliability.
- Negotiate and manage third-party vendors, service providers, and equipment suppliers.
