About You

You have a proven track record of leading product engineering teams and delivering successful products at scale. You are a hands-on engineer with architecture and leadership skills. You also understand how to care for and support the people around you. You have experience in many processes for product development and understand the nuances required to optimize any software development lifecycle. You have a track record of analyzing teams and systems and identifying how to uplift team members and operations. You have a vision for how technology can drive the business forward and you can navigate conversations with all levels of the organization. You can pivot quickly between being a teacher and being a student. You know when to lead from the front, and when to lead from the back. You know when to guide, and when to roll up your sleeves and take action. You are humble with a sense of humor and don’t take yourself too seriously. You have been working in or dreamed of working in the gaming industry and are ready to turn your talents towards chess!

What you'll do

• Collaborate across multiple workstreams to align and execute the product engineering roadmap
• • Define and launch new products and features
  • Improve and optimize existing products and features
  • Build and support multiple cross-functional product engineering teams
• Improve our operational quality initiatives and ensure successful delivery
• Manage multiple teams and help develop their Kindness and Excellence traits according to our Traits by Level
• Architect and launch services that deliver value at massive scale

Preferred Skills

• Strong collaboration and communication skills working in a fully distributed team
• Experience with software engineering and architecture in one or more modern cloud environments (GCP, K8S, etc)
• Experience with the full product development lifecycle from conception to launch
• Experience with multiple programming languages (PHP, Java, Golang, Python, etc)
• Hands-on experience across the full stack (Edge, App, Databases, Infrastructure)
• Experience in a data-driven product environment with proper data gathering, A/B testing, and cross-functional communication
• Experience with high-available system design and architecture patterns
• Sense of ownership and responsibility
• Chess player
• Lifelong learner
