About the role
This is an exciting fixed-term role covering maternity leave within the Marketing and Communications team (specifically Membership Marketing) at CIBSE. You will work closely with the Head of and other colleagues to continue delivering impactful, data-driven campaigns to support member acquisition, engagement, and retention across the UK and international markets. You will take ownership of campaign planning, execution and reporting, using automation tools and CRM systems to ensure seamless customer journeys.
What you will do
- Deliver marketing campaigns supporting membership acquisition, retention, and engagement goals.
- Manage and set up (where needed) automated communications aligned to the membership lifecycle.
- Create and optimise newsletters for CIBSE Networks and Engagement i.e. groups, societies and regions.
- Support delivery of social media and advocacy campaigns that build awareness and engagement.
- Maintain and improve omni-channel communications highlighting member benefits.
- Monitor and report on campaign performance and apply improvements as needed.
- Collaborate with colleagues across departments to ensure alignment and integration of activities.

What you will need to be successful
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Help support and deliver integrated marketing campaigns to support membership acquisition, retention, and engagement across all CIBSE audiences.
- Develop and manage automated email workflows and journeys using Pardot, ensuring timely and relevant communications throughout the membership lifecycle.
- Create and maintain regular member and segment-specific newsletters in collaboration with CIBSE groups and societies.
- Develop creative and engaging content across digital channels, including social media campaigns and paid or organic content.
- Support the delivery of advocacy campaigns to promote the value of membership and grow member engagement.
- Support in the delivery of evergreen omni-channel member benefits campaigns, continuously optimising messaging and channels based on performance.
- Use digital analytics (e.g. GA4, Buffer, LinkedIn, Pardot, Salesforce etc.) to monitor campaign effectiveness, prepare reports, and implement data-driven improvements.
- Coordinate campaign activity with internal departments, ensuring a seamless and consistent member journey across touchpoints.
- Maintain an up-to-date understanding of membership offerings and CIBSE value propositions to support messaging accuracy and consistency.
- Work flexibly and collaboratively as part of the Marketing and Communications team, supporting wider activities where needed.
Essential Knowledge/Skills
- Hands-on experience in a marketing, communications, or similar role.
- Demonstrable ability to deliver high-quality marketing campaigns is value.
- Planning and delivering integrated marketing campaigns.
- Demonstrable use of marketing automation tools.
- Strong copywriting and storytelling skills.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple campaigns and deadlines.
- Proactive and creative approach to marketing.
- Ability to analyse data and adapt strategies accordingly.
Desirable
- Relevant professional development, certifications, or training in marketing, digital, or communications (e.g. CIM, HubSpot, Google, etc.).
- Experience working in a membership or professional body environment.
- Proficiency in Pardot and Salesforce.
- Understanding of digital analytics, ideally GA4.
- Attend events if needed (within UK).
