Citadel Aviation

Regional Sales Manager

Purpose

The Regional Sales Manager drives Citadel Aviation’s aircraft-based prospecting engine by identifying which large-cabin aircraft will need work next, qualifying leads, monitoring trigger events, and equipping the sales team with pre-call intelligence, so that Regional Sales Directors spend their time with the highest-value opportunities.

Rather than asking who the team should call, this role builds the target list around the aircraft, capturing model, serial number, location, owner and operator, current provider, interior age, and upcoming maintenance events. Success looks like a steady flow of well-qualified, accurately scored opportunities, timely trigger-event alerts, and sales-ready intelligence packages that shorten the path from target to meeting.

This position reports to the Director of Global Sales and works closely with the Regional Sales Directors, Sales Operations, and Marketing.

Responsibilities

Market Intelligence & Aircraft Identification

•       Mine fleet databases, registration data, and market-intelligence sources to identify large-cabin aircraft approaching maintenance events, inspection intervals, or refurbishment cycles.

•       Build the prospect list around the aircraft, capturing registration and serial number; model, year, and location; owner, operator, and management company; current MRO and interior age; last refurbishment; upcoming maintenance event; and sale status.

•       Identify and map decision-makers, including the DOM, VP of Maintenance, Director of Aviation, Chief Pilot, Aviation Manager, Procurement, and Owner.

•       Maintain competitive intelligence on rival MRO, completion, and interior providers.

Lead Qualification & Opportunity Scoring

•       Qualify inbound and outbound prospects for fit, work potential, and geography.

•       Apply Citadel’s objective opportunity-scoring model and assign account tiers of A+ Strategic, A High-Value, B Development, and C Long-Term.

•       Meet weekly business-development output targets of approximately 50–75 new qualified prospects, 25–50 new decision-makers, 10–20 high-priority aircraft opportunities, and 5–10 trigger events, along with competitive-intelligence updates.

Trigger-Event Monitoring

•       Monitor trigger events, including aircraft sale or new owner, new management company, aircraft relocation, upcoming inspection, interior aging at seven to ten years, major modification, new acquisition, a change in Director of Maintenance, MRO dissatisfaction, and aircraft entering or leaving maintenance.

•       Route time-sensitive opportunities to the appropriate Regional Sales Director with supporting research.

Pre-Call Intelligence & Campaign Support

•       Prepare pre-call intelligence packages for the sales team covering the owner and operator, current maintenance provider, interior condition, decision-maker, and planned maintenance location.

•       Support the signature G650 / G650ER 12-year inspection and interior refresh campaign by identifying aircraft entering the inspection window.

Sales Enablement & CRM

•       Enter qualified opportunities into the CRM with complete required fields, and partner with Sales Operations to maintain data quality.

•       Support pipeline hygiene and nurture campaigns for Development (B) accounts in partnership with Marketing.

Requirements

Required

•       Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Aviation Management, or a related field; equivalent experience considered in lieu of a degree.

•       3+ years in business development, sales research, market intelligence, inside sales, or sales operations, preferably in aviation, aerospace, or another technical B2B environment.

•       Strong research and analytical skills, including advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, data modeling).

•       Proficiency with CRM systems and the discipline to maintain accurate, complete records.

•       Familiarity with aviation technical vocabulary sufficient to qualify opportunities credibly.

•       Authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred

•       Experience with fleet and market-intelligence platforms (JETNET, Amstat, Aviation Week Intelligence Network).

•       Direct exposure to business aviation, MRO, completions, or aftermarket services.

•       Familiarity with the large-cabin fleet (Gulfstream G550/G650/G700; Bombardier Global and Challenger families).

•       Working familiarity with FAA Part 145 repair station operations and Part 91/135 operator environments.

Working Conditions

•       A research and coordination role that combines office or remote work with regular travel and time at Citadel facilities as needed.

•       Regular travel (approx. 50%) for industry events and customer or market visits.

•       Extended hours may be required during campaign launches, event weeks, and reporting deadlines.

Knowledge, Skills, and Other Attributes

•       Is personable and professional, comfortable engaging with ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) clients, C-suite executives, and their representatives, and communicating with equal ease across internal stakeholders and external customers.

•       Applies analytical curiosity by noticing what the data is saying and surfacing it, rather than simply running the list.

•       Works with exceptional attention to detail, recognizing that a mistyped tail number or stale record has downstream consequences.

•       Brings strong research instincts and resourcefulness across fragmented data sources.

•       Communicates clearly in writing and produces concise, decision-ready intelligence packages.

•       Works comfortably to weekly output targets and objective scoring criteria.

•       Collaborates effectively with Sales, Sales Operations, and Marketing.
