About This Role

Climate Power has an immediate opening for a Senior Associate, National Partnerships. The Senior Associate, National Partnerships will report to the Managing Director, Political and focus on supporting the political team’s internal operations and external communication. The Senior Associate will play a key role in preparing for, communicating internally and externally around, and tracking impactful information related to the political team’s external engagements. Further, one essential duty of this role will be to keep partners across the climate and clean energy landscape informed with timely, relevant, high-impact resources.


Primary Responsibilities

Project Management and Administrative Support (50%)*

  • Assist in preparation for, outbound communication related to, and the tracking of information for the political team’s partner engagement events and projects. This includes writing post-event recaps for Senior Leadership to capture the impact of our work in real time.
  • Maintain the political team’s outreach listservs and national partnership CRM database in partnership with the Manager, National Partnerships to ensure accurate contact records, timely data entry, and real-time list management across partner outreach. Assist with report and dashboard maintenance as needed.
  • Provide operational support for one c4 communications grant workstream, including but not limited to tracking impact against grant commitments, managing cross-functional action items, and coalition and surrogate recruitment and management.
  • Manage weekly & daily team meeting agendas, an internal project management hub, & provide support to other cross-functional projects as needed.
  • Schedule meetings and assist when needed in maintaining the calendar for the Managing Director, Political; Take detailed notes for internal cross-functional and external partner meetings, including tracking action items, as needed in support of the political team’s external engagements.
  • Manage the collation and editing of a weekly team report to summarize real-time impact and timely updates for distribution to Senior Staff.
  • Support the Managing Director, Political, with other projects as needed.

National Partnership Outreach (50%)*

  • Support the political team with external communication to campaign committees, candidate campaigns, and partner organizations by assisting in drafting rapid response materials as well as taking notes in meetings at the direction of the Managing Director.
  • Assist in managing electoral partnership programming and events, including but not limited to rapid response email support and project management of poll briefings.
  • Represent Climate Power at events, meetings, and other engagements in lieu of other political team members as requested.
  • Support the drafting of National Advisory Board and Creative Council email communication in collaboration with the Partnerships Advisor, Political, as needed, and on a quarterly basis.

*Time breakdown is approximate. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed and capacity dictates.


Essential Qualifications

  • 3 years of relevant prior work experience: candidate campaigns, electoral or advocacy nonprofits, government, and/or other programmatic work preferred.
  • Must be able to work independently, but also collaboratively with diverse groups of people, communities, and partners.
  • Ability to communicate information in a clear, compelling manner, be it verbally, graphically, or in writing.
  • Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, able to multitask, and meet deadlines without sacrificing quality of work.
  • Willingness to stay up to date on best practices and trends relative to the work and projects in their purview.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Workplace.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in climate-focused roles in any nonprofit, political campaign, or in city, state, or federal government settings.
  • Experience managing CRM systems.

Salary & Benefits Package

Climate Power offers a competitive compensation package, including salaries that are commensurate with and directly tied to years of experience. Climate Power believes years of experience are a foundational element of equitable pay, and the primary metric used to determine one's salary. The full salary range for this role is listed below, with a given set of years correlating to a fixed 'step' or placement within a salary range. Salaries are otherwise non-negotiable, and not impacted by merit-based performance evaluations or other flexible and/or subjective factors.

Location & Hours of Operations

Climate Power is a remote-first organization based in Washington, DC. This position can be located anywhere in the United States, but must be able to work Monday - Friday 9 am - 6 pm EST, plus weekends and evenings as the work dictates. Occasional travel is required as needed, typically 3-4 times per year.


Our Hiring Timeline and Process

We are accepting applications on a rolling basis and will continue to interview until the position is filled (posting will remain up until position filled).


An ideal start date would be on or before June 15, 2026.


Our interview process generally involves 2 rounds of interviews, ranging in length from 30-60 minutes. All interviews will be conducted via Google Meet or Zoom. Successful candidates that move forward in the hiring process, will be invited to complete a skills assessment activity (for which they will receive payment) and will undergo a vetting process, including reference and background check.
