About the role

Do you value a team approach while building and growing relationships? Are you interested in pivoting to tech leveraging experience in an Energy Vertical? We are seeking a full-time Business Development Executive  with 7+ years solution based sales experience. Our ideal candidate must be nimble, hungry, tenacious and open to collaboration.


The Business Development Executive will spend their time bringing in new clients. It is critical that this person can strategically work backward to deeply understand client workflows. The ideal candidate will drive sales at all levels within target organizations and effectively communicate value from utilization of Corva. The role reports to the Director of Sales and covers operators based in Houston and possibly additional European markets. The person must be located in the UK or Europe and may travel to cover additional markets.

What you'll do

  • Identify prospective customers, including the various decision makers within an organization, and effectively communicate Corva’s value

  • Work with team to prepare presentations

  • Utilize key internal stakeholders for value connection

  • Secure new business for Corva primarily focusing on new customers, secondarily focusing on expanding business with existing customers

  • Set the stage for formal demonstrations on Corva and answer questions on the system

  • Identify opportunities to capture case studies from customers to quantify Corva’s value

  • Participate in marketing discussions to continuously improve Corva’s reach

  • Follow up on customer requests and business opportunities in a timely manner

  • Regularly update CRM and sales pipeline of opportunities

  • Assemble proposals to customers

  • Facilitate initial MSA discussions as needed

  • Strategic planning and execution

  • Creating business plans and mapping start to finish

  • Support proper invoicing and collections

  • Organize and participate trade shows, industry events, and other opportunities to interact with customers and promote Corva

  • Provide training to customers on Corva system as required

  • Provide industry and customer insight to Corva team for future product development and growth

  • Travel as required up to 25%

  • Other duties as required

Qualifications

  • 5 to 10 years of industry experience in Oil and Energy

  • 5 to 10 years of selling software or SAAS solutions is a plus

  • Ability to identify and communicate value to multiple levels within a customer organization

  • Ability to speak with C-Level Executives

  • Strong familiarity of software available in drilling or completions

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

  • Creating strategic business plans from start to finish

  • Excellent presentation skills

  • Ability to work well with teams and collaborate with sales, operations, engineering, and R&D

  • Strong track record of follow through for customers and closing business

  • Experience utilizing real time drilling data

  • Analytical thinking skills 

  • Four-year bachelor of science in engineering, geology, or related field

  • Experience in drilling or completions optimization is a plus
