About the role

We are in search of a Senior Software Architect proficient in full-stack development, with a strong track record in managing complex codebases. This vital role involves not only designing and implementing solutions that meet our clients' business goals but also taking ownership of the infrastructure and architecture for one of our revenue-generating oil & gas product lines. You'll be expected to review and directly contribute to code, enhancing our development and testing processes, and facilitating our team's efficiency. This role offers remote work flexibility and may include up to 10% travel for customer and internal team meetings.

What you'll do

  • Spearhead initiatives to design and implement comprehensive solutions aligned with client objectives while maintaining system stability.
  • Develop architecture and software design modifications to maximize performance and increase system reliability.
  • Own the infrastructure and architecture for revenue generating oil & gas product line, ensuring scalability and reliability.
  • Review and contribute directly to code changes, maintaining a high standard of quality and innovation.
  • Facilitate the development and testing processes for our internal teams.
  • Demonstrate expert level skill in problem decomposition and ability to navigate through ambiguity.
  • Provide accurate and timely status of plan and current execution status to Wabtec engineering leadership.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • A solid understanding of AWS and cloud technologies.
  • Over 5 years of experience in solution architecture, focusing on complex, enterprise-level solutions.
  • Expertise in cloud computing, API design, and integration technologies.
  • Experience with a variety of programming languages and development frameworks, indicating a broad software development background relevant to this role.
  • Proven experience in delivering Highly Available applications with zero planned downtime for mission critical systems.
  • Proficiency in managing databases such as PostgreSQL, Redis, MongoDB.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD practices, preferably with ArgoCD.
  • Advanced problem-solving abilities and capable of articulating specific technical topics or assignments to others. Ability to break down complex problems and estimate level of effort.
  • Understanding of microservice based and message driven architectures.
  • Ability to produce detailed solution documentation, including architecture diagrams and technical specifications.
  • Proven leadership skills, capable of leading cross-functional teams to project success.
