About the Position

The Data, Product, and IT (DPI) Team at Digital Promise works across the organization to ensure that the organization operates effectively and equitably and has the talent, tools, and capabilities it needs to achieve its mission. The Business Intelligence Associate is an essential member of the DPI team and reports directly to the Senior Business Intelligence Manager.

This role sits at the foundation of Digital Promise’s enterprise BI ecosystem — supporting the platforms, data quality, and reporting infrastructure that the organization depends on to make informed decisions. The Business Intelligence Associate will contribute to the administration of Salesforce and Tableau, assist in building dashboards and reports, and help maintain the governance standards and documentation that keep our data trustworthy and accessible. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a solid Salesforce foundation who is eager to grow into broader BI and data strategy work in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.

Responsibilities

Platform Support & Administration

  • Support the day-to-day administration of Digital Promise’s Salesforce platform, including user management, permissions, and data privacy, in alignment with the architectural standards set by the Senior BI Manager.
  • Develop and maintain fields, views, reports, dashboards, campaigns, triggers, validations, and other Salesforce objects and functions, including custom objects when necessary.
  • Build and maintain workflows using Workflow Rules and Flow under the direction of the Senior Business Intelligence Manager.
  • Assist with the maintenance and troubleshooting of third-party integrations connected to Salesforce, including Marketing Cloud Account Engagement (Pardot).
  • Utilize data quality tools (e.g., Apsona, Data Import Wizard, DemandTools) to maintain data integrity and resolve data issues across the platform.

Data Governance & Documentation

  • Support the implementation and maintenance of data governance standards, including data dictionaries, naming conventions, and reporting standards that ensure a single, trusted source of truth.
  • Assist in maintaining documentation on data definitions, access protocols, and system configurations.
  • Help monitor data quality across Salesforce and connected systems, flagging and resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Contribute to the development and upkeep of data privacy practices and access controls in line with organizational security protocols.

Analytics & Reporting

  • Build and maintain reports and dashboards in Salesforce and Tableau that support organizational data needs and progress toward goals and metrics.
  • Assist with data analysis projects, pulling and synthesizing data from Salesforce and other organizational systems to inform program and operational decisions.
  • Contribute to the development of BI dashboards and visualizations that help stakeholders measure impact, optimize operations, and track organizational health.
  • Support the development and iteration of KPI frameworks and executive reporting under the direction of the Senior BI Manager.

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Collaborate with staff across programs, operations, and development to understand their data needs and translate them into effective Salesforce and Tableau solutions.
  • Provide user support and troubleshooting assistance to Salesforce and Tableau users across the organization.
  • Deliver user guides and training materials for new features, processes, and system updates.
  • Participate in requirements-gathering conversations and help document technical specifications for data and BI projects.

Technology & Project Support

  • Assist with the full BI development lifecycle — from technical design through development, testing, and deployment — for both small and large initiatives.
  • Support the Senior BI Manager in executing project plans for technology and data initiatives, following agile delivery practices and maintaining clean documentation and version control.
  • Stay current on Salesforce, Tableau, and BI best practices, proactively surfacing opportunities to improve platform use and data capabilities across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Activity pursuing or earned Salesforce Administrator Certification; experience with Salesforce Nonprofit Starter Pack preferred.
  • 2–4 years of experience working directly with Salesforce, including at least 1 year in an administration or platform support role.
