About the role

We are looking for a Financial Accountant to support the existing accounting and financial operations of the company. You will be exposed to and working across different areas of the finance function within Flo. We are ideally looking for someone who is seeking broad exposure across accounting functions in a dynamic, sustainability driven environment.

What you'll do

Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, the Financial Accountant shall primarily provide support (without taking full responsibility) for the following:

Financial Operations

• Support Financial Operations Lead for: 
• • Daily bank reconciliation.
  • Daily cash flow projection
  • Procurement activities for certain corporate purchases, including insurance. 

Reporting and Analysis

• Support Business Controllers for: 
• • Month end closing activities for opex and related balance sheet accounts, including:
  • • Review and maintain Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable balances.
    • Prepare accounting schedules (e.g. prepayments, fixed assets, FRS116) for reporting (e.g. month end closing, financial statements).
    • Intercompany transactions and balances - accounting and billing
  • Financial statement preparation and audit of the opex and related balance sheet accounts.
  • Monitoring expenditure against budget and produce reports and analysis for Management Team and budget owners.

Treasury

• Support Heads of Finance on administrative tasks related to banking.  

Once up to speed and when the situation arises:

• Support Tax Lead for: 
• • Quarterly GST and annual corporate income tax filing.
  • Fulfilling local tax reporting requirements such as FBT and payroll tax. 
  • Liaising with auditors and tax agents and responding to queries.
  • Ad-hoc tax advisory projects.

Other administrative tasks to support and continuously improve overall financial and accounting operations

You will be a good candidate if you:

• Seek to gain experience in a broad spectrum of Finance and Accounting functions.
• Have a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent qualification
• Are organised, systematic, task oriented and pragmatic
• Are tech-savvy, and proficient with Microsoft applications, such as Excel

• Have experience in the energy industry
• Have worked in a fast paced, fast growing setup before
