2025 Reporting Fellowship

About Global Press

Global Press trains and employs local women reporters to cover the world’s most pressing topics from places where the issues are acute, underreported and connected to wider global trends. Since 2006, Global Press has reimagined international journalism. Our reporters, supported by a skilled global team of editors and accuracy professionals, produce multi-lingual print and audio and photo journalism. Our audience development strategy ensures we reach the local and international stakeholders who need our stories the most.

About the fellowship

Global Press offers two-year topical reporting fellowships for women journalists. Our fellowships offer valuable experience reporting for Global Press through cross-border collaborations, revelatory investigations and ambitious explanatory news projects.

Shifting Democracies Fellows will examine changing governance structures in countries around the world, and how those shifts are interconnected. During this two-year, full-time fellowship, you will work as an investigative and explanatory journalist, participate in advanced skills training and be part of an international cohort of women journalists, all working and living in their home countries. A dynamic self-starter, each fellow is responsible for finding and conceiving of the highest-quality news content. Fellows are from and live full time in the one of the 15 target coverage locations. Fellows take part in robust learning journeys throughout the course of the two-year fellowship.
