Position Summary

The Merchandising Coordinator is responsible for supporting the merchandising team in managing product assortment strategies across all channels—wholesale, online, and retail. This position plays a vital role in delivering a consistent customer experience through strategic assortment and product placement recommendations. This position leverages data and creativity to collaborate with cross functional teams and ensure the proper execution of brand strategies throughout the company.

 

Essential Functions

Inventory & Product Operations

  • Manage inventory within assigned product categories, including organization, transfers, cycle counts, and annual inventory audits to ensure inventory accuracy and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain merchandising standards and organization of inventory lines to support product visibility and accessibility.


Assortment Planning & Market Readiness

  • Support the preparation and merchandising of wholesale, retail, and event assortments for meetings, presentations, and strategic initiatives.
  • Partner with Merchandising and Field teams to document and maintain assortments for store openings, events, and other business initiatives.
  • Create, maintain, and distribute account-facing market materials, including line sheets, SKU lists, product catalogs, and digital selling tools.
  • Develop and update assortment-specific line sheets and selling materials, ensuring timely and accurate distribution to internal and external stakeholders.

 

Reporting, Analytics & Business Insights

  • Prepare weekly and ad hoc reporting for the omnichannel business, providing actionable insights to support decision-making.
  • Maintain product portfolio information, including lifecycle status, pricing, assortment strategy, product attributes, and channel-specific selling data.
  • Support product coding, attribution, and data integrity initiatives, partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate reporting and planning.
  • Pull and validate product costing information to support pricing strategies across retail, wholesale, and event channels.
  • Analyze sales performance, customer behavior, market trends, and product metrics to inform assortment, pricing, and merchandising strategies.
  • Track product performance throughout the season and during events, delivering post-season and post-event analyses with recommendations for future improvements.


Cross-Functional Collaboration & Project Support

  • Partner with Merchandising, Planning, Sales, Marketing, Retail, and Field teams to support product strategy, assortment execution, and business initiatives.
  • Coordinate merchandising-related projects and support key milestones, deliverables, and timelines across departments.
  • Contribute to special projects and other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in buying, business administration, marketing, or related field.
  • 2-4 years’ experience in whole/e-commerce/retail and/or buying. 
  • Technical aptitude with web-based tools and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Analytical, with strong problem-solving abilities and an understanding of the creative process.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and partner cross-functionally.
  • Ability to analyze, organize, and integrate large amounts of complex information into clear, concise presentations.
  • Ability to remain organized, pay strict attention to detail, and meet crucial deadlines.

  • Inventory Accuracy: Product inventory is organized, accurately maintained, and routinely validated, providing confidence in reporting, planning, and business decisions.
  • Assortment Excellence: Retail, wholesale, and event assortments are prepared accurately and on schedule, ensuring teams have the right product mix to achieve business objectives.
  • Data Integrity: Product attributes, pricing, lifecycle status, and assortment information remain accurate, current, and reliable across systems and reporting tools.
  • Business Insights: Leadership receives timely, meaningful reporting and analysis that drives informed assortment, pricing, and merchandising decisions.
  • Operational Efficiency: Market materials, line sheets, and selling tools are consistently delivered on time and with minimal errors.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Merchandising initiatives are executed smoothly through strong collaboration, communication, and follow-through across departments.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Inventory accuracy rate, including cycle counts and annual inventory audit results
  • On-time completion rate for assortment preparation, market materials, and merchandising deliverables
  • Product data accuracy rate across product attributes, pricing, lifecycle status, and assortment information
  • Timeliness and accuracy of weekly and ad hoc reporting
  • Completion and quality of post-season and post-event performance analyses
  • Cross-functional project execution, measured by milestone completion and stakeholder satisfaction
