About the Role
As Loam's Senior Accountant, you will be a part of a dynamic and highly skilled Loam’s enablement function supporting the corporate accounting team and financial management of the business. This role will include supervising day-to-day AP/AR function, monthly accounting and reconciliations, cash management and supporting interim and year end financial deliverables. This is a global role and you will be working primarily for our Group Parent entity in Australia while also providing need based support to the entities in the US, Canada and Brazil.
Responsibilities
- Manage (hands-on) the monthly/quarterly/annual accounting cycles; debtors, creditors, bank recs, and cash flow for up to two companies.
- Supervise the AP and AR teams and coach them to support efficient operations.
- Managing monthly reconciliations process along with AASB 16 Lease accounting, inventory accounting, accruals and prepayments.
- Support IAS and BAS lodgement, payroll tax, superannuation, STP reporting, and FBT.
- Responsible for day to day banking transactions, including clearing, reporting and monthly reconciliation.
- Lead the preparation of financial statements and workpapers for audit and tax filings.
- Liaise with external service providers and internal stakeholders for day-to-day accounting and operational finance management.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement and review of finance policies and internal controls for accurate and reliable financial record keeping
- Contribute to continuous improvement and management of correspondence, documents and filing systems.
- Support the implementation of automation and process improvement initiatives. We encourage new ideas to make finance processes efficient!
- Other duties as may be assigned (to be less than 10% of your job scope)
Requirements
- Degree and postgraduate qualification (e.g. CA / CPA) in a relevant field such as Finance or Accounting.
- Total of 2 - 4 years of post qualification experience. Ideal for a second mover from Big4 / mid-tier accounting practice with experience in financial accounting roles in Industry.
- Demonstrated experience in financial reporting practices and preparation and review of tax compliance matters.
- Exposure to the Manufacturing industry including exposure to Cost Accounting and establishing systems/ processes for inventory management and reporting would be highly valuable.
- Exposure to multinational companies and multi-currency consolidation are desirable but not essential.
- Strong experience in the Xero accounting system is essential. Experience / willingness to learn and adapt to Tier 1 and 2 ERP systems is highly desirable.
- Experience with supervision and coaching would be preferred but not required.
- Self starter and solution oriented mindset.
- Hands-on with exceptional attention to detail, highly reliable and accountable /
- Team player - work collaboratively with others and offer to support your colleagues when they are under pressure
- Ability to work in a fast paced and navigate highly dynamic environment.
- Strong communication and proven stakeholder management skills
- Experience within a small and dynamic team will be considered highly advantageous.
