Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare materials for internal and external audiences (pitch books, RFP responses, board materials)
  • Research and analyze data including annual reports, 10-k’s, earnings reports
  • Prepare market and competitor analysis to support the development of client strategy
  • Track and document relevant market activities (M&A, block transactions, etc.)
  • Draft call notes and prepare periodic reports
  • Coordinate review and execution of legal documentation (non-disclosure agreements, contracts, amendments, etc.)
  • Maintain origination efforts and pipeline activity up to date in Salesforce
  • Assist with new transaction management and execution working closely with the deal team (Actuarial, Finance, Investments, Operations, Risk & Legal)
  • Assist with the onboarding of new clients
  • Provide superior service level and support for existing clients by keeping track of outstanding items, issues and initiatives and ensure those are resolved in a timely manner
  • Work on ad-hoc projects related to strategic partnerships with investors and asset managers
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Education and Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in the financial services industry in business development, corporate and investment banking, relationship management or sales role
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, actuarial science or equivalent work experience

Required Skills

  • Attention to detail, analytical and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Self-starter and willingness to take on new assignments as the business evolves
  • Comfortable interacting with internal and external stakeholders at all levels within the organization
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft products
  • Professional attitude
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • High ethical standards and integrity.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience dealing with external clients
  • Familiarity with Salesforce
  • Knowledge of the U.S. life and annuity insurance/reinsurance market 

Location and Travel

Periodic travel to Martello Re’s offices for internal meetings, as needed.
