Petfolk is on a mission to transform pet care and enhance the lives of pets, pet parents, and veterinary caregivers. The Senior Financial Analyst, reporting to the Vice President of Finance, FP&A, focuses on providing in-depth analytics, reporting, and financial modeling to support strategic decision-making across the business. By aligning business functions and driving financial insights, the Senior Financial Analyst plays a pivotal role in supporting Petfolk’s mission and contributing to the company’s continued success.
The Role
- Produce reports and analyses that integrate both operational metrics and financial results to understand granular trends at each of our veterinary practices
- Collaborate on monthly and quarterly business performance reports shared internally and externally
- Contribute to quarterly forecasting, annual budgeting, and long-range financial planning
- Support new business initiatives, transforming new concepts and complexities into Excel models and analyses to understand financial implications and ROI
- Enforce data integrity, accuracy, and governance in financial and management reporting
- Identify and lead initiatives to continually improve, automate, and scale reporting and forecasting tools, processes, and methodologies
- Facilitate the month-end close by analyzing and reconciling data sets.
Who You Are
- Advanced MS Excel skills
- Strong quantitative and mathematical reasoning skills with the ability to apply statistical and analytical concepts to complex business problems
- Fluency with modern AI productivity and analytical tools (e.g., Claude, GPT, and related LLM platforms) to accelerate research, analysis, and workflow automation
- Ability to find appropriate data, create analyses, and review reports while ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Highly proactive and analytical with strong attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work well independently and in a team environment
- Ability to plan and manage multiple projects simultaneously
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- BA/BS in, Finance, Accounting, Business, or a similar degree
- 3+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), investment banking, consulting, or a related function
- Experience in SQL and Business Intelligence tools
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- This job will be NYC-based with a hybrid schedule at a brand new office at 1PENN.
- While the position is in-office, it involves regular virtual communication via video conferencing, email, and other collaborative tools.
TRAVEL REQUIRED:
- This position requires minimal travel, up to 10%, to our 2nd HQ office for in-person meetings and to our pet care centers to familiarize yourself with projects and ensure timelines are met.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $90,000 – $115,000 + performance-based bonus tied to impact
