About the team

Proto’s team is extremely global with 80% BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and Persons of Colour) and 50% female management working across 15+ countries. We’re a remote team of self-starting and entrepreneurial SaaS engineers, operations and growth professionals. Our remote team follows established processes for cross-cultural and timezone collaboration, with opportunities to periodic in-person work opportunities.

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated DevSecOps Engineer to join our innovative team. The successful candidate will:
  • Architect and scale our cloud-based infrastructure
  • Implement and manage observability tools
  • Maintain SOC 2 and ISO 27001 compliance
This role requires a deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, software development, and information security.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain CI/CD pipelines with integrated security measures
  • Ensure availability & scalability of our cloud infrastructure
  • Conduct security assessments and vulnerability scans of infrastructure and applications
  • Develop and enforce security best practices and policies
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to address security concerns
  • Monitor systems for security threats and respond to incidents
  • Stay updated on emerging security threats and mitigation strategies
  • Develop and maintain a secure access control process for our hosted environments
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in DevOps or Security Engineering roles
  • Deep knowledge of AWS
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash)
  • Experience with containerization tools like Docker
  • Experience with observability tools like Grafana
  • Experience with information security standards like ISO 27001 or SOC 2
  • Proficiency in Python programming language
  • Understanding of network security protocols and practices
  • Knowledge of SIEM tools and security monitoring techniques
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Nice-to-Haves
  • Knowledge of other cloud providers, such as GCP and Azure
  • Relevant certifications such as AWS Security Specialty
  • Understanding of machine learning operations (MLOps) and related security practices
  • Knowledge of threat modeling methodologies and risk assessment frameworks
  • Experience with secrets management tools such as AWS Secrets Manager
