About the role


Role type: Permanent Full time, 40 hours per week Monday to Friday.

Location: Field Based - on client sites, mostly in Essex and Kent areas


As a Fire Alarm Engineer, you will be delivering planned preventative maintenance on fire/life safety equipment to ensure peace of mind and compliance to our customers. You will also carry out regular servicing, reactive maintenance and commissioning of various fire detection & alarm systems plus other related systems, compliant with British Standards.



What you will be doing

  • Regular routine servicing, commissioning of various Fire alarm systems, and other Fire/Life safety systems
  • Undertake reactive call outs for fault finding and the repair of faults
  • Complete a service report for all service visits to maintain compliance.
  • To work with and under instruction from your line manager complyingwith work instructions, company policies and Health and Safetyprocedures.
  • Ensure that an accurate and high standard of company documentation is maintained.
  • Undertake ‘On-Call’ duties as with your Team (as per rota).


What we're looking for


Essential:

  • Working understanding of relevant British Standards, in particular clauses relating to servicing, maintenance and commissioning
  • Hold a valid CSCS or ECS card
  • Full clean UK manual driving licence
  • Safety focused approach to customers and work colleagues
  • Collaborative, communicative, and adaptable with a proactive mindset.
  • Demonstrated competence in operating IT systems, such as handheld tablets and digital communicators
  • Minimum 3+ years Fire Alarm System experience.

Desirable:

  • Fire Alarm Manufacturers courses certification including FIA Bs5839 Fundamentals
  • Wide knowledge on manufacturers: Morley, Kentec, Advanced, Notifier, Ziton, Hyfire, EDA
  • Experience working with Emergency Lighting systems advantageous
  • Asbestos awareness certification
  • Qualified First Aider
