Ramp Agent - Downtown Skyport (Manhattan)

About the Role

Downtown Skyport is seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Ramp Agent to join our team in Manhattan. This role is critical to ensuring the safe, efficient, and customer-focused operation of our heliport. Ramp Agents support daily flight operations by assisting passengers, handling baggage and cargo, fueling aircraft, and maintaining a secure, well-organized facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ramp Safety: Escort passengers to and from aircraft, ensuring compliance with safety protocols in all weather conditions.
  • Aircraft Fueling & Support: Fuel aircraft accurately, maintain detailed fuel records, and follow all operational procedures.
  • Baggage & Cargo Handling: Safely load, unload, and secure baggage and cargo between aircraft and passenger vehicles.
  • Customer Service: Provide professional, courteous service to flight departments, VIP clients, and helicopter tour passengers.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate ground support equipment, including baggage carts, fuel systems, and heliport lighting systems.
  • Facility Safety & Housekeeping: Perform routine safety inspections, maintain a clean and orderly environment, and ensure adherence to all safety standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required.
  • Age: Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Driver’s License: Valid state-issued driver’s license required.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform frequent walking, bending, stooping, and climbing in varied weather conditions.
  • Certifications: FDNY Certificates of Fitness (F03 & P15) required—training provided if not already held.
  • Professionalism: Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to interact confidently with high-profile clients.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay Rate: $18 – $22 per hour, based on experience.
  • Schedule: Full-time, minimum 40 hours per week.
  • Location: On-site at Downtown Skyport, 6 East River Piers, Manhattan, NY. Free parking available.

The pay range for this role is:
