About the role

We’re looking for a Cloud Engineer to design, build, and optimize the cloud infrastructure that powers the SmartSuite platform. This role is central to ensuring our engineering teams can deliver new features rapidly and reliably while maintaining a secure, scalable, and high-performance environment.

You’ll work closely with developers, architects, and product teams to evolve our cloud platform, automate deployment processes, and implement best practices in reliability and observability. Your expertise will help shape how SmartSuite continues to scale—supporting thousands of organizations across the globe.

What You’ll Work On

• Design, build, and maintain SmartSuite’s AWS-based infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles with Terraform and CloudFormation.
• Own and evolve our CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes for microservices and applications.
  Implement and manage monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure high availability and platform performance.
  Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot infrastructure issues, optimize application performance, and define deployment best practices.
  Manage and secure AWS IAM policies, VPC configurations, and other cloud-native security controls to maintain a secure environment.
  Support and maintain containerized and distributed systems using ECS, SQS, and Kafka.
• Continuously improve scalability, automation, and cost efficiency across the cloud environment.
• Contribute to platform architecture decisions that enhance performance, resilience, and developer velocity.

Who You Are

• 5+ years of experience in a DevOps, SRE, or Cloud Infrastructure role.
• Deep hands-on expertise with core AWS services such as ECS, Lambda, VPC, S3, IAM, SQS, and CloudWatch.
  Proven success implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC), ideally using Terraform.
• Experience building and managing automated CI/CD pipelines with tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, or AWS CodePipeline.
• Strong understanding of containerization and orchestration (Docker, ECS).
• Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language — such as Python, GoLang, or Bash.
• A problem-solver at heart, with the initiative to identify and deliver improvements proactively.
• A collaborative communicator, comfortable partnering with development teams to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable systems.
