Club Executive Director
Location: Saco, ME

Summary
Sofive Soccer Centers is a nationwide organization currently operating 22 sports facilities and five youth soccer clubs across 10 states, with more expansion on the horizon.
FC America Maine is seeking a qualified and passionate individual for the role of Club Executive Director. This key leadership role is responsible for the strategic, operational, and financial performance of the club.
The Executive Director will oversee all aspects of club operations, including membership growth, program development, staffing, budgeting, marketing, and stakeholder engagement.
This individual will work closely with the Vice President of Football Operations to ensure high standards in player and coach development, while fostering a culture of excellence, integrity, and community.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Club Operations
- Serve as the chief executive of the club, driving its vision, mission, and strategic goals.
- Develop and implement operational plans, including budgeting, marketing, staffing, and facilities management.
- Monitor key performance indicators and adjust strategy to achieve growth and sustainability targets.
- Oversee day-to-day operations of both recreational and competitive programs, ensuring a high-quality experience for players and families.
- Act as the primary liaison between Sofive HQ and the club to ensure alignment of business and soccer objectives.
Staff & Resource Management
- Recruit, manage, and support a team of administrative and soccer staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Supervise department heads (e.g., Technical Director, Operations Manager, Registrar) and provide leadership development opportunities.
- Oversee staff scheduling, payroll approval, performance reviews, and professional development.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws, health and safety standards, and organizational policies.
Community & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with parents, players, coaches, local schools, municipalities, and partner organizations.
- Represent the club in public forums and act as its ambassador at community and corporate events.
- Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in all club programs and community engagement initiatives.
- Develop sponsorship opportunities and fundraising strategies to enhance club resources.
Financial Oversight & Revenue Growth
- Develop and manage the annual budget in collaboration with Sofive HQ and internal departments.
- Identify and pursue new revenue opportunities, including grants, sponsorships, facility rentals, and events.
- Ensure accurate financial reporting, fee collection, and financial controls are maintained.
- Collaborate with HQ on software, systems, and reporting to optimize performance and transparency.
Program Development & Oversight
- Work closely with the Technical Director to ensure alignment between business and technical goals.
- Establish age-appropriate curriculums, game models, and principles of play for various stages of development.
- Support the launch and expansion of programming (camps, clinics, leagues, tournaments, etc.).
- Monitor enrollment and retention metrics and use data to inform decision-making.
- Ensure the club provides a safe, inclusive, and positive environment for all participants.
Marketing, Branding & Communications
- Oversee club communications, marketing initiatives, and digital presence (website, social media, newsletters).
- Ensure consistent messaging that reflects club values and objectives.
- Implement outreach strategies to attract new members and retain current families.
- Develop and maintain brand guidelines in collaboration with the HQ marketing team.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 3+ years of senior leadership or operations management in youth sports, non-profits, or education
- Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Business, Education, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred
- Strong understanding of the youth soccer landscape and club operations
- Knowledge of Maine Youth Soccer structure is a plus
- Familiarity with video feedback platforms such as Veo, Trace, Spidio, or similar
- Proven success in staff supervision, budgeting, and strategic planning
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and travel for events and competitions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM, registration, and financial software
- Experience with club platforms such as Sprocket, TeamSnap, PlayMetrics, or SportsEngine
- Background in sales, marketing, or business development
- Understanding of youth sports governance and compliance
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required
- Passion for soccer and youth development
- High integrity, emotional intelligence, and a solutions-oriented mindset
- Demonstrated ability to lead through change and scale operations effectively
