The Seasonal Academic Recruiter is responsible for sourcing, screening, and hiring exceptional academic staff—including Instructors, Teaching Assistants, Academic Coordinators, and Academic Deans—for our pre-college and gifted enrichment summer programs. This role is critical in ensuring that Summer Discovery programs feature engaging, hands-on, high-caliber courses taught by highly qualified educators.

Essential Functions:

  • Recruitment Management: Oversee the entire recruitment process with your pool of candidates, from sourcing and screening to shortlisting and interviewing candidates in high volume.
  • Sourcing & Outreach: Develop and execute a strategic recruitment plan to identify and attract top-tier academic talent, including current university faculty, graduate students, and experienced secondary school teachers.
  • Targeted Recruitment: Specifically recruit candidates with expertise and experience across our core subject areas, which include Business, Entrepreneurship, STEM, Law, Psychology, Arts, and more.
  • Screening and Vetting: Assess candidates for a passion for youth mentorship, experience with project-based learning, and the ability to implement a differentiated, intellectually stimulating academic environment.
  • Candidate Evaluation: Perform reference investigations, and competency assessments to ensure the best fit for the role.
  • Candidate Engagement: Manage communication with a diverse pool of candidates, ensuring a positive and informative experience throughout the hiring process.
  • Reporting & Analytics: Track recruitment metrics and prepare comprehensive reports for weekly meetings.
  • Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality of applicant and staff information.



Core Competencies:

  • Interview Expertise: Adept at conducting a variety of interview types, including structured, competency-based, and behavior-based, with a strong ability to evaluate and identify the best candidates for each role.
  • Selection Processes: Extensive hands-on experience with video and phone interviews, coupled with thorough reference checking to ensure a comprehensive and accurate candidate assessment.
  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides), leveraging these tools to streamline recruitment and maintain organized records.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English, enabling clear and persuasive interactions with candidates and hiring managers, and effectively conveying job expectations and company values.
  • Adaptability: Demonstrates the ability to handle ambiguity and adapt to evolving situations, maintaining composure and effectiveness in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
  • Productivity: Highly self-motivated and efficient, consistently achieving high productivity levels and delivering results in a dynamic and challenging work setting.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources,,Experience in Higher Education,, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a recruiter or in a similar HR role, with a demonstrated track record in full-cycle recruitment.
  • Proven ability to manage the entire recruitment process, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and hiring candidates.
  • Experience in high-volume recruiting in academics is preferred.
  • Familiarity with the qualifications typically required for academic staff (e.g., Master's degree/PhD candidates, classroom teaching experience, and experience with gifted learners is a plus).
  • A strong understanding of the pre-college, experiential learning, or academic enrichment landscape.
  • Experience with various recruiting methods and tools, such as job boards, social media, and networking.
  • Ability to work 30 hours per week 9-5 (EST)


$35-$40/ hr
