The role

SurrealDB is on the lookout for an Account Executive to drive customer adoption of SurrealDB as the database of choice for modern applications.

As the first Account Executive in the US, you will play a vital role by engaging with customers to ensure successful adoption of SurrealDB across our customer base in the US market. This role has a dedicated growth path as part of a fast growing startup with the opportunity to create lasting impact.

What you’ll be doing

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with champions and key decision-makers, understanding their business needs and working with Sales Engineers to present tailored solutions
  • Identify and qualify potential customers through our various channels, including attending meetups and industry events
  • Cultivate a consultative approach by understanding customer’s needs and use cases, working with Sales Engineers to propose a tailored value proposition
  • Manage the entire sales cycle from initial contact to helping customers go live with their workloads
  • Work closely with other teams such as Developer Relations, Engineers, Marketing and Sales Engineers
  • Closely monitor the industry landscape (people, competitors, partners, emerging technologies)

About you

  • You are motivated to deeply understand customer priorities, help them achieve their vision and be an advocate for them in the organisation. You build strong relationships across functions and serve as a trusted advisor
  • You are naturally curious and a continuous learner. You are excited to learn about the latest technologies and are not scared to get hands-on to learn. Technical knowledge in the database and technology infrastructure space is a plus
  • You have a proven track record of software sales (preferably in technology infrastructure with a product-led-growth approach), with the ability to successfully execute on a consultative, solutions-oriented, value-based selling methodology
  • You are a self-starter with a strong desire to succeed and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • You have strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to rapidly earn trust and engage effectively with clients
  • You are comfortable navigating and thriving in a rapidly changing landscape, with a flexible and resilient attitude

The pay range for this role is:

125,000 - 155,000 USD per year (New York)
