About the role

Risk Advisory’s Business Intelligence & Investigations unit is looking to hire a junior research analyst for its Washington, DC-based team. This is a paid, temporary, and part time position. The ideal candidate will: be currently pursuing a bachelors or masters degree with a focus on analytical research; have recently obtained a university degree and be looking for an opportunity to gain job experience in our industry; or have at least six months of work experience, either in investigations or a related sector such as journalism, political risk, or academia. The position requires working from our offices and hours can be flexible to support your studies.

We conduct investigative work around the world, so in addition to near native-level spoken and written English, we are looking for candidates who can offer fluency in one or more other languages. Arabic, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, French, and Mandarin Chinese are all of particular interest, but we welcome other languages too.

As an entry level position, the key focus for an Intern is to learn to conduct thorough, high quality research and to be able to convey findings to colleagues verbally and in writing. Interns are expected to demonstrate a strong interest and commitment to expanding their knowledge of the Business Intelligence field, the various types of projects we conduct and their investigative methodologies, and fostering ethical business practices including by combatting corruption, money laundering, and fraud. The Intern will work closely with a mentor who will help them meet their internship goals.

The successful candidate will be curious in their outlook, tenacious in their approach and able to multitask effectively. They will be expected to manage multiple projects, often within tight deadlines. Strong interpersonal skills and a desire to learn about our industry are both requirements.

We will only consider applicants who have the right to work in the US.

We want to be the leader in our sector and understand that a diverse team enables us to deliver the best services to our equally diverse client base.
