GRAPHIC DESIGNER

Job description

POSITION                     Full-time, 38 hours per week. Monday - Friday

INDUSTRY AWARD     Fitness Industry Award– Level 7

SALARY                        $70,000- 80,000 per annum plus superannuation

REPORTS TO               Marketing Brand Manager


ABOUT THE ROLE

The Graphic Designer brings the Upstate brand to life across both our physical studios and marketing channels. This role creates high-impact visual design that strengthens brand identity, elevates the in-studio experience, and supports the rollout of new studios, campaigns, and internal communications.

Working closely Marketing and Property Development teams, this role ensures every visual touchpoint feels fresh and aligned to Upstate’s mission: helping people create a positive state of mind through movement, connection and positivity.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Studio + Property Design

  • Create graphics for new studio builds and renovations
  • Partner with our brand agency for hero creative direction and design briefs, while being responsible for delivering the majority of studio design assets and execution.
  • Design external signage, window graphics, and shopfront assets
  • Design internal wayfinding signage and in-studio graphics
  • Produce branded wallpapers, murals, vibe-setting graphics
  • Create custom neon-style graphics aligned with Upstate’s brand

Marketing Design

  • Produce campaign assets for launches, promotions, and challenges
  • Design posters, A-frames, flyers, digital assets, paid ads collateral
  • Build and refine brand pitch decks, presentations, templates
  • Create branded merchandise concepts: apparel, accessories, promotional items
  • Maintain visual consistency across all marketing channels
  • Support social and content teams with graphic needs

Internal Communications

  • Design internal comms assets for staff updates, initiatives, events
  • Create templates for presentations, team decks, and internal documents
  • Ensure all internal design maintains brand consistency and clarity

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

Required

  • 3–5+ years experience in graphic design
  • Strong portfolio across print + digital
  • High proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop)
  • Experience designing for large-format print (signage, murals, environmental graphics)
  • Skilled at preparing production-ready artwork
  • Experience delivering to multiple deadlines and stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail and brand consistency
  • Experience working with architects, shopfitters, or signage providers
  • Experience liaising with printers and signage suppliers
