Compensation: $19/hr 


Regular Duties 

Our mission at HOEM is to create wonderful communities and our Videographer is a key part in documenting the experience of our students, and engaging them in a way that makes them love their time at HOEM. A high-level overview of the role includes: 


The Video Storyteller is responsible for creating intentional, high-quality video that tells the HOEM residence story and supports recruitment, community-building, and long-term brand goals. This role focuses exclusively on HOEM video content and does not support The Downtown Student. 


Primary outputs 

  • YouTube videos 
  • Evergreen recruitment and lifestyle content 
  • Planned event video capture 
  • Social-ready vertical video cuts for HOEM platforms 

Key responsibilities 

  • Plan, film, and edit long-form video content 
  • Capture video at key HOEM moments and events (planned in advance) 
  • Produce vertical video cuts suitable for TikTok and Instagram 
  • Develop recurring video formats or series 
  • Deliver completed video assets on agreed timelines 

We’re a team of people who does whatever it takes, so there will be other duties that you are assigned in your role with us that don’t fit nicely into this list.    


Work Schedule  

Hours of Work: 10 - 12 hours per week, scheduled around your academic schedule. Some hours must be done in the HOEM Base office.  

 

Team Meetings: Mandatory and in person. These meetings will be scheduled as early as 7am and as late as 10pm bi-weekly. Exact date and time will be determined as a team based on academic schedules.  

 

One-On-Ones: To be scheduled with your supervisor around your academic schedule. Every effort will be made for these to be scheduled during an assigned work shift.   

 

Training: There is mandatory training that you need to be present for.   

Summer: August 17th-21st, 2026

Academic: January 9th/10th

 

Move-In & Move-out Days: Move-in and move-out days are mandatory for the full HOEM team. You will receive at least 2 weeks’ notice for your assigned work hours for these days.    

August 22-23, 2026

August 29-30, 2026


Away Date Blackout Periods: Due to the cyclical nature of our work, there are specific periods that no scheduled absences will be permitted:   


August 16th - August 31st, 2026

April 24th - May 2nd, 2027

 

All successful candidates must maintain student status throughout their term of employment. They must also pass a Police Criminal Records Check through their local Police Department at their own expense. Preference will be given to applicants who live at HOEM.
