This role operates with a high degree of independence in execution while receiving guidance, architectural direction, and escalation support from the Principal Systems Administrator. The position is responsible for outcomes, not just tasks, and plays a critical role in ensuring CAD/PLM systems remain stable, secure, and aligned with engineering and business needs in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment.
What You'll Do...
- CAD & PLM System Ownership (Execution-Level)
- Serve as the primary execution owner for the daily operation and support of Siemens Teamcenter and NX systems
- Operate independently to triage, diagnose, and resolve CAD/PLM issues, escalating to the Principal Systems Administrator when architectural decisions, systemic risk, or vendor engagement is required
- Execute system changes, maintenance, and user support activities in alignment with standards, direction, and priorities set by the Principal Systems Administrator
- Proactively identify operational risks, recurring issues, and improvement opportunities; recommend solutions and implement approved changes
- Maintain accurate system, support, and operational documentation
- PLM & CAD User Support
- Provide front-line and advanced support for Teamcenter and NX users, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption to engineering workflows
- Own user onboarding and offboarding for CAD/PLM systems, including account setup, permissions, profiles, and workstation readiness, following defined access and security models
- Partner directly with engineering users to understand day-to-day workflows and escalate structural or architectural needs to the Principal Systems Administrator
- Track, document, and report support trends, systemic issues, and resolution metrics
- System Administration & Maintenance
- Perform routine system health checks and operational monitoring of CAD/PLM environments
- Execute patching, upgrades, configuration changes, and installations for Teamcenter components (Active Workspace, Dispatcher, FMS, Visualization, etc.) and Siemens NX under the guidance of the Principal Systems Administrator
- Monitor license utilization and usage trends; provide recommendations and reporting to the Principal Systems Administrator
- Coordinate with Siemens and third-party vendors as directed, while retaining ownership of issue resolution and follow-through
- Data Management, Security & Compliance
- Enforce CAD/PLM data management and lifecycle best practices to maintain data integrity, version control, and traceability
- Implement and maintain access controls supporting ITAR and CUI requirements using Teamcenter Projects and related security mechanisms
- Support backup validation and recovery activities and promptly escalate data integrity or compliance concerns
- Broader IT Collaboration
- Collaborate with IT Systems, Information Security, ERP, MES, and data teams to ensure CAD/PLM systems integrate cleanly with the broader digital manufacturing ecosystem
- Provide limited general IT support as needed, with primary accountability remaining on CAD/PLM systems
- Participate in cross-training and continuous improvement efforts as directed by the Principal Systems Administrator
- Reporting Relationship
- Reports to: Principal Systems Administrator, CAD/PLM
- Receives technical direction, architectural guidance, prioritization, and escalation support from the Principal Systems Administrator while maintaining independent execution responsibility for day-to-day operations
You have...
- Associate’s degree in IT, Engineering Technology, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- 5+ years of hands-on experience supporting Siemens Teamcenter and NX in a production environment
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while operating within defined technical direction and governance
- Strong working knowledge of Teamcenter, Active Workspace, and Siemens NX
- Solid understanding of CAD/PLM data management principles and engineering workflows
- Experience supporting Windows-based engineering workstations and user account management
- Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to drive issues to resolution and clearly communicate risks or constraints
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to report status, trends, and risks to senior technical leadership
- Comfortable owning outcomes, system health, and user experience while collaborating within a structured technical leadership model
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. Citizenship is required, as only U.S. Citizens are eligible for a security clearance
