Who We Are:

Crafty’s mission is to help companies craft better workplaces by providing the services and technology to deliver a modern, comprehensive food & beverage program for their employees, no matter where they work.  After operating with a vertically integrated supply chain (i.e., directly fulfilling orders from Crafty-operated distribution centers) in Chicago and the Bay Area, our team launched a third party fulfillment model that has rapidly scaled our coverage into over 25 markets globally, in just a year’s time.

At Crafty, we have a diverse, high-powered team, composed of folks in technology, supply chain operations, field operations, sales, account management, and more. Our workplace is dynamic, fast-paced, and just plain fun; we pride ourselves in having an amazing mix of humans who make up our team!

At Crafty we believe projects come to an end when their impact is fully realized. On top of building tools and analysis, you will help track and drive adoption of the tools we’re building. We believe feedback and iteration are key to success and will also set you up to help drive our long term data strategy.

If you're energized by the idea of doing meaningful, high-impact work on a small and talented team then this is the role for you.

Required Attributes:

  • Technical Problem Solving – Strong ability to break down and resolve technical challenges efficiently. You are comfortable working across different tools and technologies and take a hands-on approach to troubleshooting and optimizing analytical workflows. You may not know every system inside out, but you know how to best use existing tooling for different scenarios
  • Effective Communication – Able to clearly communicate data findings and technical decisions to stakeholders across teams. You ensure clarity and alignment by tailoring your communication to your audience, whether they’re technical partners or business leaders. You contribute to transparency in cross-functional projects and help teams make informed decisions.
  • Team Contributor & Growth Mindset – You take ownership of your work and consistently deliver high-quality results. You actively support your teammates by sharing knowledge, offering feedback, and seeking out opportunities to learn and grow. You lead by example in taking initiative and continuously developing both your technical and soft skills.
  • Data Infrastructure Experience – Experienced in building and maintaining clean, scalable datasets and efficient data pipelines. You understand how to design analytical workflows that balance performance and maintainability, and you’re comfortable working with modern data warehousing tools and best practices.
  • Curious & Impact-Driven – You approach problems with curiosity and a mindset of continuous improvement. You’re energized by solving real business problems and enjoy finding opportunities where data can drive value. You're open to exploring new tools or methodologies that can improve impact or efficiency.
  • Adaptable & Solution-Oriented – Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment. When faced with ambiguity or change, you focus on what you can control and proactively seek out solutions. You stay focused on outcomes and collaborate well across teams to help keep work moving forward.

Ideal Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience working in data-related roles
  • Strong Technical background with Postgres, Snowflake, ETLs/ELTs, DBT, Tableau
  • Understanding system infrastructure and design
  • Experience driving data strategy at the organizational level.

Don’t meet all of the qualifications? We want you to consider all of your skills and experiences - both professional and personal- that would make you successful in this role. Although some qualifications are essential, others can be attained with time. We believe diverse perspectives, upbringings, and knowledge contribute to our strong company culture and we encourage you to apply.

Role Goals:

  • Goal #1 (Delivery / execution):
    • Deliver all major assigned projects each quarter by scoping work up front, surfacing dependencies early, and using strong quality controls (testing, monitoring, peer review) so that at least 90% of roadmap milestones ship within 10% of the planned timeline, reviewed quarterly.
  • Goal #2 (Semantic layer + self-serve + AI):
    • By Q3 2026, design and ship Semantic Layer v1 that enables non-technical teams to self-serve data via AI-assisted tools, and drive change management so that 75% of target users actively use the new self-serve experience within 90 days of launch, tracked through usage analytics and reduced ad-hoc request volume, with adoption reviewed quarterly through EOY 2026.
  • Goal #3 (Tableau adoption):
    • Starting with a baseline by Q3 2026, partner with department leaders to embed Tableau into team workflows and SOPs, resulting in 90% of target users actively engaging with the new dashboards/tools within 90 days of each launch, measured via usage analytics and a reduction in repeat reporting requests, with progress reviewed quarterly through EOY 2026.
