Position Description:

The Data Analyst Intern (Salesforce & Tableau Focus) will support the Business Operations team by improving Salesforce data quality, reporting, and analytics adoption, while also assisting with the implementation and rollout of Tableau. This internship is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, learning new systems, and building scalable processes that help teams make better decisions.

The intern will assist with Salesforce data cleanup initiatives, build reports and dashboards, and support the foundational work required to enable reliable Tableau reporting and visualization.

Major Job Responsibilities:

  • Audit Salesforce records for completeness and accuracy (Accounts, Contacts, Opportunities, Projects)
  • Identify and resolve common issues such as duplicates, missing fields, outdated records, and inconsistent naming
  • Support contact cleanup initiatives and ongoing data hygiene efforts
  • Document data standards and help maintain clean, reliable CRM data

Salesforce Reporting & Dashboards

  • Build and maintain Salesforce reports and dashboards for Sales and leadership
  • Support pipeline visibility and forecasting accuracy by validating report inputs
  • Assist with data reconciliation between Salesforce and related systems/tools (as needed)

Tableau Implementation & Rollout Support

  • Support the Tableau rollout by assisting with foundational setup tasks such as:
    • Validating source data readiness
    • Supporting dataset cleanup and standardization
    • Helping document metrics definitions and reporting logic
  • Assist with testing dashboards and identifying data issues or gaps
  • Help create enablement materials (quick guides, FAQs, training content) to support internal adoption

Process Support & Documentation

  • Support standardized workflows for required fields, stage progression, and next steps updates
  • Assist with bulk updates and structured data changes under guidance
  • Create quick reference guides and “how-to” documentation for Salesforce and Tableau users

Insights & Continuous Improvement

  • Analyze trends in CRM usage and data gaps (e.g., incomplete records, missing next steps)
  • Provide recommendations to improve adoption, data integrity, and reporting consistency
  • Support ad hoc projects tied to executive priorities and operational reporting needs

Position Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Analytics, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field
  • Strong attention to detail and comfort working with structured data
  • Ability to learn new tools quickly and follow defined processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Salesforce (reports, dashboards, objects/fields)
  • Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills (filters, pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP)
  • Exposure to Tableau, Power BI, SQL or other data visualization tools
  • Familiarity with CRM concepts (accounts, contacts, pipeline)
