Position Description:

FlexGen is seeking a Proposal Intern to join our team as part of our Early Careers Program. This internship is designed for a motivated, detail-oriented individual interested in proposal development, pricing support, automation, and process optimization within the renewable energy and energy storage industry.

The Proposal Intern will support the proposal team throughout the proposal lifecycle by assisting with document preparation, pricing inputs, data organization, and process documentation. This role provides hands-on exposure to automation tools, data workflows, and cross-functional collaboration with Business Development, Engineering, Product, and Operations teams


Major Job Responsibilities:

Proposal Support & Coordination

  • Assist with proposal preparation, formatting, and document assembly under the guidance of senior proposal team.
  • Help track proposal requests, deadlines, and required inputs throughout the proposal development process.
  • Support maintenance of proposal templates, pricing files, and shared documentation to ensure accuracy and consistency.

Pricing & Data Support

  • Assist with pricing templates by inputting data, validating calculations, and organizing supporting documentation.
  • Help document pricing assumptions, inputs, and outputs for internal review.
  • Support consistency of data across proposal materials, templates, and shared systems.

Process Development & Documentation

  • Assist in reviewing, documenting, and refining proposal workflows and standard operating procedures.
  • Help organize SharePoint folders, proposal libraries, and version-controlled documents.
  • Support creation of process guides, checklists, and internal documentation to improve efficiency and clarity

Automation & Systems Exposure

  • Assist with basic automation and data tasks using tools such as Excel, Power Automate, Python, or SharePoint under supervision.
  • Help test and maintain existing templates, automation tools, and workflows.
  • Gain exposure to VBA automation, multi-application integrations (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), and dynamic logic design.
  • Support data cleaning, workflow prototyping, and process automation initiatives

Position Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in proposal development, automation, data analysis, or business process improvement.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), with interest in developing advanced capabilities..
  • Technical Skills (Exposure or Interest Preferred, Not Required):
  • Microsoft Office (Advanced Excel & PowerPoint): Interest in building KPI tracking dashboards, forecasting models, and dynamic reports.
  • Excel VBA: Exposure to or interest in complex automation, multi-application integration (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), and dynamic logic design.
  • Python: Basic familiarity or coursework experience with data cleaning, workflow prototyping, and process automation.
  • Java: Introductory understanding of automation architecture and API-driven workflows.
  • Power Automate: Interest in workflow automation, SharePoint and Salesforce integrations, and RPA concepts.
  • Salesforce CRM & Cloud Tools: Exposure to workflow mapping, opportunity management support, and data integration testing is a plus.
  • Evisort or Contract Automation Systems: Familiarity with document automation and lifecycle management tools is helpful but not required.
