About the Role
The FIP/FIAR Consultant – Level 2 will support the U.S. Army’s Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness initiatives, which are focused on strengthening financial reporting, audit response, remediation, and sustainment efforts across Army organizations and service providers.
This role supports Targeted Mission Areas where the Army requires specialized financial expertise, including:
- Real Property accountability and reporting - Fort Sam Houston (San Antonio, TX), Shaw AFB (Sumter, SC)
- Intergovernmental Transactions - DC Metro (Remote)
You will join a team of consultants dedicated to improving the accuracy, reliability, and auditability of Army financial data while supporting mission-critical operations.
What You'll Do
In this role, your objective is to improve the completeness, accuracy, reliability and timeliness of Army financial data and information. To do so, you will:
- Support the performance of business process risk assessments and establishment of an effective financial internal control environment, processes and procedures
- Support improved production of Army’s annual and quarterly Financial Statements and footnotes in concert with evolved business processes and controls
- Support modernization of client capabilities through innovative technologies applied to business processes
- Support strategic alignment of task areas to client's priorities
Job Requirements
- Solid experience working with one or more of the following Targeted Mission Areas:
- Credentials (one of the following)
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field or
- Certification issued by appropriate licensing authority: CPA, CIA, CISA, CGFM, CDFM, PMP, SAFe, or ITIL (must be current and active)
- Years of Experience: 7 years of experience with Federal financial management and 3 years of Federal accounting experience. Commercial experience may be considered in lieu of Federal financial management and federal accounting on a case-by-case basis.
- DoD/DoW Secret clearance is required. Interim Secret is permissible and new sponsorship is available.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Direct experience with Targeted Mission Areas at a DoW Agency
- Ability to leverage data tools/tech (e.g. but not limited to SQL, Python, etc.) in your daily work
- Intrinsic curiosity for using LLMs / GenAI tools for work or personal productivity

The pay range for this role is:
73,000 - 93,000 USD per year (DC Metro Area)
