Title: Intake Specialist - Shelter
Location: New York Metropolitan Area
Reports to: Director of Social Services
Pay Range: $20.87- $20.87 per hour (effectively $38,000 – 38,000 per year)
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Status: Full-time (35 hour per week)
Role Summary: The successful candidate will perform specific intake procedures to identify barriers that will impede the structure developed towards guiding clients in becoming self-sufficient. Intake specialists have to be able to understand what a client needs when coming to them in crisis or in a less than optimum state. The specialist will be responsible for finding solutions for a myriad of issues as necessary. Compassion and patience are assets in this field and communication skills are imperative. Organization is also crucial as case records must be maintained accurately and efficiently. In addition, staff are encouraged to be cross-trained and understand job functions within their designated units.
