About the Role

As an Analytics Associate or Senior Associate at Priorities, your primary responsibility will be to support the AdHawk team by analyzing datasets, producing reports that inform digital strategy, and working directly with users of the AdHawk tool. You will be part of a small team that thinks about the big picture, is constantly looking for ways to improve our work, and helps tell a story about the digital ecosystem across elections nationwide. We are looking for someone who is eager to learn and excited to solve unique problems. This position is on the AdHawk team and reports to the Senior Reporting Manager and Engineer. This position will be remote with occasional travel as needed. Working hours are 10AM to 6PM ET regardless of location. We are not currently registered to do business in all locations. In particular, we are not currently accepting applicants based in Florida, Hawaii, Missouri, and Texas due to regulatory considerations.


Responsibilities

  • Support Priorities’ partners by providing analysis, reports, and visuals that explain the competitive media landscape. This may also involve interpreting data and providing strategic support.
  • Maintain and build scripts necessary to produce reports quickly and efficiently. 
  • Hand code and categorize data so that it is correct, standardized, and usable in a large dataset.
  • Work collaboratively with a team to maintain and improve the AdHawk toolset.
  • Provide firewalled partner support as needed for related research and data initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Dedicated to progressive causes with an interest in or understanding of political campaigns. A strong candidate for the Senior role will have demonstrated experience working on or with campaigns.
  • Experience communicating with diverse groups, working with a multicultural workforce, and bringing a sensitivity and appreciation of cultural differences.
  • Experience with relational databases and SQL. A strong candidate for the Senior role will demonstrate intermediate ability to write clean, complex queries.
  • Experience with R or Python. A strong candidate for the Senior role will demonstrate intermediate skill in either language to manage database connections, handle bulk data transformation, and write clean, scalable code.
  • Experience creating clear, communicable reports for a non-technical audience. A strong candidate for the Senior role will have experience creating visualizations and insights programmatically.
  • Keen attention to detail with an understanding that a granular approach can be necessary for high-quality work.
  • Creative thinker and problem solver who is able to self-sufficiently debug code and find errors in data.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in the Spanish language, particularly in a political context.
  • Experience working effectively in a remote environment.
  • Curiosity and passion for or experience with digital strategy and advertising.
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform, Airflow, and Amazon Web Services.
  • Experience with Git and version-controlled code.
  • Interest in learning more about programming, data science, data engineering, or front-end web app development.

Compensation and Benefits

The budget is $70,000-$80,000 for the Analytics Associate position and $80,000-$90,000 for the Senior position, but will be tailored to experience.

Application Process Information

Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. Applications should include a resume and response to application questions. The hiring process for selected candidates will consist of a phone screen, at-home exercise (compensated), and a set of final round interviews. Most processes will occur over 3-4 weeks with a target start date in late March. 


This is a cycle based position, ending at the end of 2026.
