CAD Administrator (Teamcenter)

SYOS is implementing a new CAD/PDM environment using Solid Edge and Teamcenter, and we are looking for an experienced CAD Administrator to support the global rollout of this system.

This is a hands-on, high-impact fixed-term role based in our Mt Maunganui office, working closely with our Mechanical Engineering team.  

You will be responsible for configuring and deploying our Teamcenter environment, ensuring all engineers are onboarded and trained effectively, and that processes and documentation are in place to support long-term operation. Depending on the success of the engagement, there is potential for this role to transition to a permanent position.  

  
Key Responsibilities:  

  • Lead the setup, configuration and deployment of Teamcenter PDM globally across SYOS operations  
  • Administer and maintain Teamcenter server environments, including user management, access controls and system health  
  • Develop and document CAD/PDM workflows, standards and best practice guidelines for engineering teams  
  • Deliver training to engineers across NZ and UK sites on Teamcenter and Solid Edge processes  
  • Collaborate with the Mechanical Engineering team to migrate existing design data into the new PDM system  
  • Liaise with IT to ensure appropriate systems access, including SharePoint and Jira integration  
  • Troubleshoot and resolve CAD/PDM issues as they arise during and after implementation  
  • Provide ongoing support and act as the internal subject matter expert for Teamcenter and Solid Edge  
  • Identify and implement improvements to CAD administration processes over the engagement period


Qualifications and Experience: 

  • Demonstrable experience setting up and administering Teamcenter PDM at one or more organisations — multiple implementations highly regarded
  • Proficiency with Solid Edge and/or Siemens NX CAD software 
  • Experience configuring and managing Teamcenter server infrastructure 
  • Strong understanding of PDM/PLM best practices, including change management, revision control, and BOM structures 
  • Ability to create clear technical documentation and deliver effective training to engineering teams 
  • Background as a CAD Designer or Mechanical Design Engineer is a significant advantage 
  • Formal qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering or a related discipline are desirable but not essential — demonstrable experience is prioritised
