Location: Plainview, NY (40–45% Travel Required)

Company: VB Spine

Looking for a career where your work truly matters? At VB Spine, you’ll be part of a mission-focused team that supports surgeons during life-changing spinal procedures. We’re the largest privately held spine company and among the largest family-owned medical technology companies in the world, dedicated to innovation, surgeon partnerships, and improving patient outcomes in spine care. As a Senior Field Inventory Coordinator in our Field Operations function within the Spine division, you’ll take ownership of end-to-end field inventory management across assigned territories—ensuring accuracy, compliance, audit readiness, and seamless availability of implants and instrumentation so surgical teams can focus on patient care without interruption.

What You’ll Do:

  • Plan, execute, and manage cycle counts and internal inventory cycling across hospitals, branch/hub locations, and office sites in alignment with the approved inventory roadmap; ensure annual counting of all branch/hub inventory and support other locations as needed
  • Compile, analyze, and maintain accurate inventory data from purchase orders, requisitions, returns, cycle counts, and other sources using designated inventory management systems, tracking tools, and task platforms
  • Verify inventory accuracy by reconciling physical counts against system records; investigate discrepancies, determine root causes, and perform necessary system adjustments and reconciliations
  • Own end-to-end expired inventory resolution—including identification, segregation, documentation, disposition coordination, and full system/physical closure in compliance with shelf-life, quality, and regulatory standards
  • Manage return (RMA) processing from initiation through physical receipt, system closure, and reconciliation; coordinate cross-functionally with Sales, Quality, Distribution, Finance, and ERP teams
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for inventory-related communication with Sales and field partners—coordinating actions, resolving issues, following up, and escalating as needed
  • Dispose of damaged, defective, or nonconforming inventory per established procedures and regulations
  • Pack, unpack, receive, count, store, issue, and distribute inventory items while maintaining proper storage methods, labeling, identification, and orderly stock locations
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records of inventory levels, movements, shortages, expirations, shipments, and returns; provide timely reporting and documentation
  • Collaborate with Commercial Operations and Sales to optimize inventory levels, utilization, availability, and deployment across territories
  • Support Quality initiatives, implement inventory control procedures, and ensure accurate ERP system records
  • Conduct financial reviews of CER/DAR requests; assist with period-end inventory reconciliations, balance analysis, and reserve evaluations
  • Lead or support long-term inventory projects and initiatives, providing regular status updates to leadership
  • Offer guidance on lean inventory practices, continuous improvement, and process optimization; participate in teaching/training others on best practices
  • Occasionally perform inventory tasks in hospital or operating room environments
  • Travel to hospitals, branches, hubs, and other facilities to support counts, cycling, expired resolution, RMAs, audits, and cross-location activities

What You Bring:

  • High School diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in inventory management, cycle counting, field operations, or supply chain roles (medical device industry preferred)
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
  • Fluency in spoken and written English
  • Demonstrated knowledge of inventory tracking, counting principles, controls, and storage/movement methods
  • Strong data integrity, analysis, and reconciliation skills (including proficiency with queries, pivot tables, and data tools)
  • Excellent customer service orientation with the ability to meet high-quality standards in interactions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, and ERP systems; comfortable with data analysis and reporting
