The Role

As a System Engineer at Enertiv, you will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of our data collection by minimizing hardware downtime. Your expertise in hardware troubleshooting and network programming will ensure seamless server communication and functionality of our deployed electrical meters, IoT sensors, and networking devices. This role demands a proactive approach to maintaining our high standards of data accuracy and reliability.

Responsibilities and Results 

  • Monitor software tools to promptly identify and address server communication issues with deployed hardware.

  • Efficiently use maintenance ticketing tools to track, update, and resolve hardware issues.

  • Utilize software tools for remote troubleshooting and re-establishing hardware connections.

  • Collaborate with onsite personnel and contractors for onsite device troubleshooting when necessary.

  • Coordinate the shipment and replacement of equipment, managing the process remotely.

  • Ensure accurate set-up and configuration of replacement devices, and perform quality assurance checks on installations and data output.

  • Maintain updated records of hardware replacements and conduct monthly infrastructure cost control.

  • Regularly update field device software and firmware to ensure optimal performance.

Qualifications and Attributes

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in hardware troubleshooting, with a focus on remote solutions.

  • Proficiency in network programming and familiarity with command-line interfaces.

  • Basic understanding of Python programming language is an advantage.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively coordinate with field contractors.

  • Experience in fieldwork and an understanding of metering infrastructure are desirable.

  • Knowledge of wired Ethernet and wireless cellular telecommunication devices is essential.
