About the role

We are seeking an ambitious and creative Editor to join our talented team. Our Editors create narratively, aesthetically, and technically brilliant edits for a wide range of projects. You will support our LA team of Producers, EPs, and Creative Teams to initiate the post-production process. You will also work closely with our Australian-based Editors and wider Post-Production team, acting as a conduit between our LA and Sydney offices.

Based in our Glassell Park / Cypress Park office, you’ll be joining a high-performing team in an environment that values pushing creative boundaries and breaking lazy binaries.

Responsibilities

This role has an approximate 60/40 split between Editing & Post-Production Support responsibilities.

Editing

• Follow the Edit team’s lead in creating narratively, aesthetically and technically brilliant edits. 
• Make creative decisions regarding the editing of projects based on written scripts or input from internal Producers and external clients.
• Work independently to weave stories out of given footage from a variety of sources.
• Collaborate with Producers and Editors to build and refine scenes.
• Collaborate across Teams, including Producers, Editors, Motion Designers & Sound.  
• Create cut-downs and assemblies of projects of various lengths, along with final polished edits.
• Manage and action edit revisions with care and attention to detail.
• Multi-task multiple assignments and coordinate with the internal team on project milestones.
• Maintain clear and effective communication between the production and editing environments.
• Contribute meaningful ideas to project development.
• Lean into emerging technology that can help Entropico's creative process.

Post-Production Support

• Ingest footage & create proxies, syncing video and audio post-shoots.
• Prep edits for colour grading, animation and sound mix.
• Online, resize and master final outputs.
• Ensure all projects remain clean and organised, ready for any handovers.
• Provide support to Entropico’s hard drive and data management systems, including the archival process.
• Work within Entropico's internal templates and workflows, ensuring seamless handovers to other offices.

Experience & Skills

• 2 years of experience editing a wide range of projects; 2 years of experience editing a wide range of projects; such as hype/sizzle videos, TV commercials, social media-based assets and longer form scripted content. 
• Proficient in Premiere Pro.
• Understands offline-to-online workflows,, including grade prep and onlining.
• Ability to ingest, sync and organise footage from a variety of formats, codecs and camera sources.
• Experience assembling footage and revising edits.
• Sufficient troubleshooting skills and initiative to solve creative and technical problems.
• Desired: Archiving data from completed projects and working with cloud storage platforms.
• Excellent attention to detail and time management.
• Confident communication skills, including verbal, nonverbal and online. 
• Ability to work efficiently and effectively, both individually and as part of the team.
