About the role

Join our team and help individuals achieve community integration, job security, and independence!
As a Supported Employment Specialist, you will provide personalized training and support to help individuals with barriers to community integration thrive in employment and recreation. You’ll make a direct impact by teaching self-management skills, facilitating transportation, creating inclusive work environments, and supporting participants in reaching their fullest potential.
What you'll do
- Job Training & Support:
- Provide one-on-one job site training and counseling.
- Teach participants self-management skills for job independence.
- Acquaint new participants with job surroundings, co-workers, and company policies.
- Workplace Integration:
- Educate employers and co-workers on supporting participants.
- Collaborate with employers to modify job descriptions and create inclusive environments.
- Develop and implement fading plans to transition participants to workplace independence.
- Transportation Assistance:
- Provide transportation and mobility training for participants to commute to job sites.
- Monitoring & Advocacy:
- Evaluate participant progress, suggest adjustments to service plans, and ensure ongoing support.
- Advocate for participant rights in the workplace and promote awareness of their capabilities.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate progress notes, training logs, and assessments in agency systems.
- Collaborate with the Service Delivery Team to update participant goals.
Qualifications
- Education:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Experience:
- 1 year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities (preferred).
- 1 year of industrial or service work experience (preferred).
- Licenses/Certifications:
- Valid Washington State Driver's License and auto insurance (required).
- CPR/First Aid certification (preferred).
- Skills:
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to evaluate and adapt training techniques.
- Proficient in Office 365 (Word and Excel).
- Languages:
- English (required).
- Spanish (preferred).
Schedule
- Standard schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (1/2 hour lunch).
- Occasional weekend or evening shifts as needed.
