Position Overview:


The Business Intelligence Analyst will transform raw data into actionable insights, supporting strategic business decisions across retail operations. Initial projects include dashboarding e-commerce trends, analyzing customer behavior, site traffic, and shipping costs to understand profitability by product line.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Analysis and Interpretation: Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and correlations, translating findings into actionable insights.
  • Reporting and Visualization: Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to communicate KPIs to stakeholders.
  • Forecasting and Predictive Modeling: Create forecasting models for inventory management, sales projections, and strategic planning.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Proactively reach out to Marketing, Finance, and Operations to support business objectives with data-driven. recommendations.
  • Data Quality Assurance: Ensure data accuracy and address inconsistencies and anomalies.
  • Autonomous Operation: Work independently with little oversight, demonstrating a proactive approach to understanding and meeting data needs across departments.
  • Central Data Repository Creation: Manage large datasets and integrate data from various sources into a cohesive data repository.

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in business intelligence, data analysis, or a related role within the retail industry.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and strong SQL skills.
  • Experience with systems such as NetSuite, Shopify, and Google Analytics preferred.
  • Solid understanding of statistical analysis, forecasting, and predictive modeling.
  • Excellent communication skills for conveying complex findings to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to data accuracy and reliability.
  • Strong grasp of general business topics such as gross margin, customer behavior trends, and average shipping load value.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data, and present recommended business decisions to stakeholders.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience with ShipStation and FedEx systems.
  • Knowledge of predictive modeling and statistical analysis.
