ABOUT THE ROLE

The Video Production Manager, will oversee the day-to-day development pipeline, scheduling, execution and delivery of content for the company’s YouTube and social media channel network. The ideal candidate has a track record of managing digital media production workflow for YouTube channels and social platforms. Although this role is not a creative role, this person has experience with ideas and formats that will grab attention and retain audiences with the creative team. 


Preferred skills: Youtube Production, Editing, Podcast production, Written Communication, ClickUp, Canva, Photoshop, Frame.io, Slack, Riverside.


WORKING HOURS & LOCATION

This is a in-person freelance role based in San Diego, CA. This role has the potential contract-to-hire after 3 months.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & IMPACT

  • Production: Planning low-budget but high-quality production. Manage overseeing teams, setting schedules and deadlines, time off requests, managing outside talent, freelancers, vendors, etc. 
  • Process Creation: Building, running, and enforcing highly organized, structured, efficient processes. Creating, maintaining and updating production schedules from pre-production through post-production and upload
  • Contract Management: Processes and maintaining production paperwork for talent. Processing payroll for talent.
  • Budgeting: Establishing and managing production budgets.
  • Casting: Overseeing talent and casting initiatives, including ongoing talent recruitment. Location scouting and booking locations for filming.
  • Post Production: Managing post production schedules, operations, and coordinating with post teams.
  • Branded Content: Working with clients and brands on schedules and deliverables.
  • Podcasting: Coordinating talent schedules and general knowledge of podcast production.

  • Managed several complex production workflows, hiring, supervising, and collaborating with multiple stakeholders and partners inside and outside the organization.

This won’t be the right role if you…

  • Have less than 3+ years of experience as a Production Leader.
  • Have little experience producing for digital channels (Youtube preferred).
  • Aren't process-oriented.


OUR INTERVIEW PROCESS

Our interview process for this role should take about 2 hours of your time in total. Normally, the process will look something like this:

  • A 20-25 min introductory chat with People & Culture to see if we think we’re a mutual fit
  • A 30-60 min chat with the hiring manager to understand your skills & background as well as understand our current landscape
  • A potential meet and great with the team


This position is offered on a 1099 contractor basis. This role has the potential to transition into a full-time position based on mutual alignment and the needs of the company. If both parties find the arrangement beneficial, we will explore the possibility of converting this role into a permanent position with full-time benefits. This contractor role can expect to be paid $1,250 per week.
