ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the President, the Director of Growth Marketing will be an experienced professional who has a proven track record in managing extensive Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) strategies, Amazon marketplace optimization, as well as executing marketing campaigns at scale. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing a broad range of marketing activities including paid media, social media, email marketing, CRM strategies, direct mail, and site merchandising.  In addition, this individual will be responsible for supporting wholesale marketing in more than 5,000 retail locations.  

The Growth Marketing Director is primarily responsible for devising and implementing comprehensive marketing strategies that align with the company's growth objectives. This involves understanding market trends, customer behavior, and the competitive landscape to create effective plans.  They must also manage multiple marketing channels (e.g., digital, social media, email, direct mail) to ensure that each one contributes to the overall growth goals. This includes not just leveraging these channels for engagement or conversions but innovating how they are used to gain a competitive edge.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & IMPACT
  • Effectively manage resources, whether it's budget, personnel, or tools, to ensure that the team can execute strategies effectively. Must balance spending with expected outcomes and adjust as necessary to optimize both team performance and campaign results.
  • Oversee the creation and execution of targeted campaigns across paid media, social media platforms, and email marketing to drive brand engagement and conversions.
  • Develop and maintain CRM strategies to foster long-term relationships with customers.
  • Continually assess the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and strategies through rigorous data analysis. Need to be adept at using data analytics to understand performance metrics and ROI.
  • Responsible for making informed decisions to optimize ongoing campaigns and pivot strategies when necessary to improve results. This involves testing, learning from successes and failures, and innovating to stay ahead of market trends.
  • As a leader, the director is responsible for building, mentoring, and leading a team of marketing professionals. This includes hiring the right talent, setting clear team goals, and fostering a collaborative, motivated work environment.

OUR INTERVIEW PROCESS
Our interview process for this role should take 4-5 hours of your time in total. Normally, the process will look something like this:
  • A 20-25 min introductory chat with People & Culture to see if we think we’re a mutual fit
  • A 30-60 min chat with the hiring manager to understand your skills & background as well as understand our current landscape
  • A 45 minute panel discussion with key stakeholders you’d be working with on a day-to-day basis
  • A 20-25 min values & behavior alignment chat with our Founder & CEO, Kevin Espiritu or our President, Elliott Wilke to discuss what you bring to the role, how you might embody our values, and future vision for Epic Gardening

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS & PERKS
  • Base Compensation: This role is an internal level of Director with base compensation starting at $135,000 depending on location, experience, and industry demands.
  • This role is eligible for an annual discretionary team performance bonus between 15-20%.
