Part-time Marketing & Communications Coordinator

About the role

Epiphany School is seeking a part-time Marketing & Communications Coordinator with an anticipated start date of July 7, 2025. This individual will be responsible for executing marketing strategies to promote the school’s mission, programs, and community events, as well as supporting internal and external communications. The ideal candidate will have strong writing, editing, and organizational skills, creativity, and an understanding of how to engage the Epiphany School community through various channels including social media, email newsletters, print materials, and the school’s website. This position requires someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and passionate about advancing the school’s brand and fostering a positive relationship with the community.

 

Key responsibilities include overseeing social media content, updating the website, and coordinating and editing school publications and newsletters, and owning the school yearbook. The Marketing & Communications Coordinator will work closely with the administration and faculty to ensure consistent messaging and elevate the school’s reputation and presence in the local community.

 

This is a non-exempt, part-time, year-round, administrator position, reporting to the Director of Marketing & Communications and expected to work an average of 20 hours per week.

 

Location

The person in this role must work in-person on the school campus in the Madrona neighborhood of Seattle, Washington. Epiphany School does not cover or reimburse relocation costs and/or expenses.  


Standard school operating hours are typically Monday – Friday 8:00am – 4:00pm. Typical work hours are from 10:00am – 2:00pm with flexibility of schedule depending on need.

 

What you'll do

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director of Marketing & Communications with aspects of the school’s communications initiatives, including but not limited to:
    • Producing and copyediting the weekly all‐school e‐newsletter (written by school staff)
    • Producing and copyediting the weekly grade‐level e‐newsletters (written by grade‐level teachers
    • Managing the school’s digital photo galleries
    • Assisting with photography and video production
    • Creating social media content
    • Creating the annual school yearbook
    • Taking meeting notes and summarizing action items for Advancement Team meetings as needed
    • Performing other duties as assigned by the Director of Marketing and Communications
  • Create and manage content for the school’s website, social media platforms, and newsletters.
  • Design and produce print and digital marketing materials, including brochures, flyers, and advertisements.
  • Track and analyze marketing efforts to measure effectiveness and make improvements.
  • Assist in student recruitment and retention efforts through targeted communications.

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with communication techniques in both written and verbal formats in the English language, including press releases, newsletters, and social media messaging.
  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to craft compelling copy for various communication channels, including newsletters, blogs, website content, and social media posts.
  • Skill in creating and maintaining a consistent brand voice across all communications, and the ability to tell compelling stories that connect with the target audience.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills to coordinate multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously, ensuring projects are completed on time.
  • High level of attention to detail in both written and visual communications, ensuring accuracy and professionalism in all materials.
  • In-depth knowledge of social media tools (Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, etc.) and best practices for engaging with different audiences.
  • Ability to plan and manage social media campaigns, create engaging content, and analyze performance metrics.
  • Basic skills in creating visual content, such as taking photos and videos for promotional purposes.
  • Experience with content management systems (CMS)
  • Experience with using design software (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.) for creating marketing materials.
  • Understanding of the educational landscape, particularly in an independent school environment, and knowledge of family dynamics in school decision-making processes is preferred.
  • Ability to track marketing performance through analytics and adapt strategies based on results.
  • Ability to work effectively with various teams, including administration, faculty, and students, to gather information and align communication efforts.
  • Ability to come up with innovative ideas for marketing campaigns, social media posts, and community engagement.
  • Self-motivated and able to anticipate needs, propose solutions, and take initiative without constant supervision.
  • Respect and understanding of the diverse backgrounds and perspectives within the school community.

Compensation & Benefits

The starting salary range for a full-time coordinator level role is between $65,000 - $75,000 according to Epiphany School’s administrator pay scale and based on years of experience, expertise, and education. The starting salary would be prorated based on full-time equivalency. When determining an initial offer, we carefully consider these factors and will ask the intended hire for documentation to verify the correct pay level.
