Lyntris

Senior Product Designer

Lyntris is a defense technology company that connects sensing to action across the connected battlespace. Lyntris brings together the talents of Accelint and Vitesse teams under one mission, with each contributing deep expertise within their domain. Combining differentiated hardware, software and mission expertise, Lyntris helps customers sense threats, make sense of complex conditions and act with greater speed, precision and confidence in contested environments.

Lyntris supports U.S. and allied defense organizations across every branch — including Navy, Army, Air Force, Space Force and allied partners — spanning strategic, operational and tactical missions and every domain: Space, Air, Land, Sea and Cyber. With more than 200 active defense programs, Lyntris works at every level of the mission, from national command authority to the tactical edge.

Solutions are designed by operators who understand the mission, engineered for the conditions that degrade or defeat standard systems, and built on an open, modular architecture that integrates into existing programs without requiring them to start over. Lyntris moves faster than the traditional defense cycle — with integrated design, build and test capabilities in-house — and delivers systems that sustain and endure long after initial fielding.

Job Description

  • Senior Product Designer
  • Full time
  • Remote

The Senior Product Designer is responsible for leading the design of intuitive, scalable, and technically grounded digital product experiences from early problem definition through implementation. This role partners closely with Product Management, Engineering, clients, and other stakeholders to translate complex business and technical requirements into thoughtful product experiences, interaction models, and high-fidelity prototypes.

The Senior Product Designer operates with a high degree of autonomy and contributes beyond traditional interface design by helping shape product strategy, explore solutions, and reduce ambiguity through rapid, AI-enabled prototyping. The role also serves as a bridge between design and engineering, using interactive prototypes to validate product behaviors, communicate design intent, and support efficient implementation.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Partner cross-functionally with Product Management, Engineering, clients, and key stakeholders to define problem spaces, understand user needs, establish success criteria, and translate ambiguous business and technical requirements into clear product concepts and experience strategies.
  • Lead end-to-end product design across user journeys, interaction models, system states, and high-fidelity interfaces, creating intuitive, scalable experiences that align with product and business objectives while accounting for real-world usage and edge cases.
  • Facilitate design thinking engagements, including workshops, ideation sessions, discovery exercises, and design sprints, to explore opportunities, generate solutions, and build alignment across stakeholders.
  • Develop high-fidelity, interactive prototypes using Figma and AI-assisted or no-code tools such as Figma Make, Claude Code, or similar platforms to rapidly explore and validate product concepts.
  • Create prototypes that demonstrate realistic user flows, conditional logic, system behaviors, edge cases, and representative data, using interactive prototypes as tangible tools for decision-making, validation, and engineering implementation.
  • Leverage AI-assisted design and prototyping workflows, including Figma MCP or comparable integrations, to improve design-system alignment, accelerate exploration, and model lightweight logic, workflows, and functional behaviors.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering to ensure designs and prototypes are technically grounded, implementation-ready, and clearly communicate system logic, states, behaviors, and design intent.
  • Contribute beyond interface design by influencing product strategy, roadmap decisions, opportunity framing, and solution direction across complex and ambiguous problem spaces.
  • Present design solutions, prototypes, trade-offs, constraints, and rationale to clients, stakeholders, engineers, and executive leadership, adapting communication to the needs of each audience and driving alignment through demonstrated product behaviors.
  • Apply user research, testing, task success measures, usability feedback, and other relevant insights to refine product experiences and improve usability outcomes.
  • Operate autonomously with a high degree of ownership while managing complex design challenges, identifying opportunities, resolving ambiguity, and driving work toward measurable outcomes.
  • Mentor and support mid-level and junior designers in product design, interaction modeling, prototyping methods, and AI-assisted design workflows.
  • Contribute to the evolution and adoption of design systems and modern product design practices that improve consistency, speed, clarity, and technical alignment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Senior-level experience in product design, UX/UI design, interaction design, or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated experience designing end-to-end digital product experiences, including user flows, interaction models, system states, and high-fidelity interfaces.
  • Experience translating ambiguous business or technical requirements into clear product and experience solutions.
  • Strong experience with prototyping and interactive design tools, including Figma or comparable platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to create prototypes that represent realistic user flows, system behaviors, conditional logic, and edge cases.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Product Management, Engineering, clients, and executive-level stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate design rationale, trade-offs, constraints, and recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in complex and ambiguous problem spaces.
  • Experience working with design systems and contributing to their continued evolution.
  • Ability to incorporate AI-assisted design and prototyping tools into product design workflows.
  • Experience working closely with Engineering to create technically grounded, implementation-ready product solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and provide guidance to less-experienced designers.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. national security clearance. To learn more about the security clearance process, please access this link.

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)

  • Experience working in defense, national security, government, or other highly technical environments.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development or prototyping tools such as Figma Make, Claude Code, or similar platforms.
  • Experience using Figma MCP or comparable integrations to support design-system alignment and technical workflows.
  • Experience integrating real or representative datasets into interactive prototypes.
  • Experience participating in or leading design thinking workshops, discovery exercises, or design sprints.
  • Experience influencing product strategy, roadmap decisions, and opportunity framing.
  • Experience working directly with clients or external stakeholders in strategic product design engagements.
  • Active-duty military experience.
  • Currently holds an active U.S. national security clearance
