Overview

We are looking for an experienced contractor to lead a Finance data governance initiative spanning Salesforce and NetSuite. This is a CFO-sponsored engagement focused on establishing clean, consistent master data — customers, products, and revenue hierarchies — as the foundation for CPQ implementation and downstream systems work.

You will own the project end-to-end: auditing current state, facilitating alignment across Finance, RevOps, and Product leadership on future-state design, executing cleanup, and handing off a governed, documented data foundation.

Essential Duties

  • Own and drive end-to-end project execution across all four phases — maintaining a phased project plan, milestone tracking, and steering committee cadence throughout the engagement.
  • Conduct a comprehensive audit of product, customer, and revenue data across Salesforce and NetSuite, documenting discrepancies, orphaned records, ghost products, and misaligned hierarchies as structured deliverables.
  • Reconcile NetSuite recognized revenue against Salesforce ARR/bookings data, quantifying and categorizing unassigned or misclassified revenue and tracing each gap to its root cause.
  • Facilitate cross-functional working sessions with Finance, RevOps, Product, and Sales leadership to align on canonical product hierarchy, customer parent/child structure, and data governance decisions.
  • Execute deduplication, record merges, SKU standardization, and revenue re-attribution in Salesforce and NetSuite following agreed future-state design specifications.
  • Design and document the future-state data architecture — naming conventions, external ID strategy, bidirectional linking fields, data dictionary, and system-ready specifications for both platforms.
  • Build and operationalize the ongoing governance model, including a decision rights matrix, stewardship assignments, data quality dashboard, and change control process.
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer to Finance, RevOps, and IT stakeholders and prepare downstream readiness documentation for Adaptive Insights, CPQ, and billing automation initiatives.

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • 5+ years in Finance operations, RevOps, or data governance at a B2B SaaS company.
  • Demonstrated experience managing cross-system data reconciliation and master data management projects.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Hands-on expertise with NetSuite — customer records, revenue/ARM module, product catalog, GL structure.
  • Hands-on expertise with Salesforce — account hierarchy, products, opportunity data, data cleanup.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to drive alignment across Finance, RevOps, Product, and Technology stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with CPQ platforms and their data prerequisites.
  • Exposure to FP&A;/planning tools such as Adaptive Insights or Anaplan.
  • Background in PE-backed or high-growth SaaS environments.
  • Active user of AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, or similar) for analysis, documentation, and workflow acceleration.
