Provider Engagement Specialist (Behavioral Health)

Bamboo Health is the leader in Real-Time Care Intelligence™ solutions aimed at improving lives for everyone experiencing physical and behavioral health challenges. We are driven by our mission to empower clients to deliver seamless, high-quality and cost-effective care during pivotal moments to improve health outcomes. From coast to coast, Bamboo Health partners with all major retail pharmacy chains, 52 states and territories, 100% of the top 10 best hospitals and more than half of the country’s largest health plans to improve more than 1 billion patient encounters annually. Join us in improving lives during pivotal care moments!

Summary:

A signed contract is only the start. The real impact happens when providers actually use our network to refer patients to behavioral health care — and when those patients get scheduled quickly.

We're looking for an energetic, motivated Provider Engagement Specialist to own that moment. You'll be the go-to partner for provider offices right after implementation, turning new clients into active referrers. You'll also help us tighten how behavioral health referrals become scheduled appointments on the back end. If you love building relationships, picking up the phone, and seeing your work show up in the numbers, this role is for you.

What You’ll Do:

  • Own engagement with newly implemented provider sites through on-site visits, phone, email and video, with a heavy focus on the first 90 days after contract signing.
  • Lead quick-start trainings and refreshers so referring staff know exactly how and when to send behavioral health referrals to the Bamboo Bridge team.
  • Identify champions at each site and keep them engaged with regular check-ins.
  • Track referral volume by provider and site; spot low or no-referral sites and act fast to re-engage them.
  • Share success stories and usage wins to build momentum across the client's network.
  • Map how referrals move from submission to a scheduled behavioral health appointment, and find where they stall.
  • Partner with behavioral health providers and scheduling teams to cut handoff delays and missed contacts.
  • Help build and document simple, repeatable workflows, scripts and checklists for scheduling.
  • Monitor referral-to-appointment time and flag patients who are falling through the cracks.
  • Capture provider feedback and friction points and bring them to Client Success, Product and Implementation.
  • Keep CRM records, activity logs and engagement reports accurate and current.
  • Support account managers with data and insights for client check-ins and business reviews.
  • Explore opportunities to enhance workflows through AI or automation tools (e.g., document summarization, task routing, or data parsing).

What Success Looks Like…

In 3 months…

  • Learn our behavioral health referral solutions, client contracts and referral workflow.
  • Shadow implementations and meet key provider contacts.
  • Begin incorporating AI-supported tools into your day-to-day work—whether through analysis, documentation, or task management.

In 6 months…

  • Own outreach for a set of newly live sites.
  • Deliver provider trainings.
  • Build your engagement tracker.

In 12 months…

  • Lift active referring sites in your book.
  • Deliver one documented scheduling workflow improvement with a behavioral health partner.

What You Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in health administration, public health, business, communications or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years in a client-facing role such as account management, customer success, provider relations, patient access, inside sales or healthcare operations.
  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently to provider sites, particularly during new client launches. In-person engagement is a critical component of this role and essential to building strong provider relationships, driving adoption and ensuring successful outcomes.
  • A competitive, self-starting drive: you set goals, chase them, and get energy from moving a number.
  • Comfort with frequent outreach, including cold calls and follow-ups with busy clinical and front-desk staff.
  • Clear, warm communication, both live and in writing, with people from front-office staff to clinical leaders.
  • Strong organization and follow-through across many sites at once.
  • Working knowledge of CRM tools (such as Salesforce) and Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Experience in behavioral health, including mental health or substance use disorder (SUD) services.
  • Exposure to referral management, patient scheduling or care coordination workflows.
  • Familiarity with EHRs, health information exchanges or provider-facing healthcare technology.
  • Experience running trainings or presenting to groups.
  • Basic process improvement skills, such as workflow mapping.
  • Comfort using or learning AI-supported tools (e.g., ChatGPT, CoPilot, or role-specific tools) to improve daily workflows.
  • A forward-thinking, curious mindset with an openness to experimenting with new technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with sound judgment and creativity in designing solutions.
  • Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-growth, and rapidly evolving environments.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote-first environment, ensuring high-quality virtual interactions with minimal distractions.

What You Get:

  • Join one of the most innovative healthcare technology companies in the country.
  • Have the autonomy to build something with an enthusiastically supportive team.
  • Learn from working at the highest levels and on the most strategic priorities of the company, including from world class investors and advisors.
  • Receive competitive compensation including health, dental, vision and other benefits.
